I prefer B. But I agree that, unless you have another Vader in helmet A standing right next to you, nobody else will even pick up on the differences. They will just see a super cool Darth Vader costume. So if A has comfort and ease on its side, then it sounds like a winner to me.

Are any of your helmets from VaderPainter? If they are and I were to guess, I would say A.
If you are looking to troop as ANH Vader specifically then I too would go with B. However, if you have ever trooped as Vader (or know someone who has) those fans come in handy. Either one looks like the are certainly 501st approvable so . . . pick your poison.

I get the ESB vibe with the helmet on the left, but the one on the right just doesn't sit right at all for me. Definately the one on the left for me. It's a really nice helmet.
