Any 70's kids from the East Coast remember Jungle Habitat ?

For peeps that never heard of it --- it was an animal jungle theme park in New Jersey in the 70s.

It's main claim to fame was having a lot of exotic animals walking free and you drive your car through.

I remember the ostriches almost breaking the car window begging for food.

An old New Jersey legend is when they shut down they just let all the animals go.

They say to this day some of the animals and their descendants still live there in the woods.

I remember back in the 80's somebody reported seeing a lion in the woods

Today the area is an Urban Exploration site for people into that sort of thing.

Found this old home movie on youtube.

Yep! I remember that! And I think it was part of Great Adventure. I think you had the option to go through this part before you got to the amusement park. I remember we went in our white VW van (which needed washing), and these spider monkeys hopped all over it, leaving lots of footprints. I remember for a couple of days after we got back, pointing the monkey prints out to my friends when the car was parked on the street.

The Cole Porter standard in the clip is amusing, too lol.

Fantastic! Which little guy are you?

(We didn't do any of the events in Jungle Habitat. I didn't even know there were any, besides driving your car through, )

I'm the one with blue tank top that seemed to have a difficult time staying on.
