That this current generation wouldn't know anything about?

I had to learn what women looked like naked by watching 70s and 80s comedy movies on video.

When I came into someone's house, I never touched anything, and I was pretty respectful.

These days, when kids come into our house, they grab anything they like, start running around like they own the place. Maybe I'm not hanging out with the right kind of kids.

good to know kids behave the same elsewhere, I thought it was just American brats.

Oh that's easy one. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! I was a kid who did allot and was expected to not be a 'slotch' and lay around the house. I didn't need allot of encouragement either. I can't tell you how many days I spent the entire day until sun down playing outside, be it football, adventures with my figures, riding bikes, or just hanging out with friends. This culture of sitting around is not anything my generation relates with today.

Load the wood rack and weed the garden. As I got older, mowing was added to that list. My kids can thank deer and natural gas for being spared the first two, the mowing will come just not in the volume I had to cover.

One big one that has been lost due to technology

Call and write a thank you note for a gift you received. Now it is a text message, a message on Facebook, or nothing at all from todays generation. It is a terrible trend in my opinion.

                          1) Walk to school alone
                          2) Run to the corner store for a quart of milk
                          3) Get up and change the channel w/ a TV dial
                          4) Copy questions, math problems and your "morning work" from a book or a chalkboard, (instead of Xeroxed copies).
                          5) Use their "company manners" when going to someone else's house
                          6) Look up things in the encyclopedia when you did research for an assignment
                          7) Cut up the newspaper for "currrent events" every week at school
                          8) Wait for the Jell-o or pudding to be made (snack packs were a luxury)
                          9) look up numbers in the phone book
                          10) adjust the "rabbit ears" to get a decent picture on the TV
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,

Man I know! A couple of months ago, some kids came over for me to babysit, and the older of the 2 (age 6) came in and the first thing he did was jump on my couch! And I (not his parents) had to remind him that there were no trampolines in my house and the couch was for sitting! Really? Needless to say I don't babysit those kids anymore.

Ride a bicycle across town with no helmet, ride in the back of parents 1/2 ton truck as well as 10 other neighbourhood kids.
