I never missed an episode during its original run.

I liked it when I was 14, (it used to come on right after The Twilight Zone back then). I don't know why, but I don't enjoy it as much now. And what's worse is the theme creeps me out now. I don't know what that's about either!

This show has that unforgettable theme song that I seem to recognize every time I hear it.

I totally dig this show. I got the whole series on DVD for Christmas. Before I got it on dvd I would catch episodes on metv.

The episode with Roddy McDowell has stuck with me since I saw it some 35 years ago. I don't know that I watched it on a regular basis or not, but man, what I did see was creepy goodness.

Very uneven, with flashes of brilliance. I need to see the unedited DVD versions...

I like the pilot TV movie a lot.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I was never a fan of the show

I gave it a second chance when it came to MeTV but it's still a subpar poor man's Twilight Zone, imo .... and many episodes are embarrassingly awful

Yeah, I LOVE the movie with the Roddy McDowall segment. That one used to freak me right out. Early Spielberg with the Joan Crawford segment too.

I also have the series on DVD. “ The Dead Man”/”The Housekeeper” and “They're Tearing Down Tim Riley’s Bar” are some of my favorites.

But the show is very hit and miss, and never reached the heights of The Twilight Zone. It also feels more dated that TZ, though it was made a decade later. Somehow 70's shows seem more dated than 60's anyway, but I'm sure that's just me. From what I've read, Serling himself was never a big fan, and gave up on it by the third season. I think he borrowed a page from Gene Roddenberry on that one.

Anyway, I think it's well worth watching overall

It's because most 70's shows and movies went out of their way to look modern and current... This backfired and made everything look dated as the years passed.

In the 60's when long hair, huge sideburns and beards were the norm most TV shows showed only "clean cut" people... making the shows seem timeless.

In the 70's this philosophy was reversed.

Today, many movies have a heavy metal WWE style rock score instead of a classic instrumental score --- In the future all these movies will look very dated.

One of the few TV series we have on disk, I love it.
