The Ebay global shipping program is so complicated (and expensive) I no longer look at items being sold that way.
They're probably shipping it internally from one location to the other before it heads your way.
I guess it takes a couple of days (maybe up to five, with a weekend in it) before it actually leaves the country of origin.
Arrival on July 1st seems optimistic.

I think The Joker has thought up that program.

It's horse crap and just a cash grab. The "brokerage fees" are three times what I'd normally pay on an item, so there is absolutely no benefit.

It deters foreign purchase, you might as well just write "US only", it has the same effect.

The worst part is, most sellers are duped into using it.

Tell me about it! AND they call it 'PRIORITY' shipping. It's got to clear UK customs yet too. Every time I order from the U.S., it takes longer for the package to clear customs than what it does to reach the UK. They're an absolute joke!

Why not just buy Supes from over here? eBay's the only place I've seen them so far for £89.00 inc. p&p.

that 1st july date was for delivery to erlanger ky not the uk ,yeah a few days 3 or 5 to get out of the states but 12 days from purchase date to not even leave the usa, groan
as to why i bought him from the usa ,i optimistically and now foolishly thought as he was in hand at the time of purchase ,i would have received him about now ,i dont think any uk dealers have him in stock atm ,ah well you live and learn ,anyone know where the usa departure point is for global shipping ,please tell me its not back in california lol

I bought my Pink Cowled Batman from a seller in the U.S. a few months back and that went via Erlanger from New York taking six days. The good news is that the next stop from Erlanger was my local delivery depot, but that ok another six days. That was using eBay's Global Shipping method. Take a look......

The seller sends it to a domestic address, who checks the contents against the invoice and makes sure the package can handle international delivery. From there, it goes to you. The process has two reasons.

              1. Stop fraud in a myriad of forms

              2. Collect taxes

I don't like it but I swear, when I drop it, I've sold only one thing internationally. And that turned into a freakin headache.

I've begun to wonder if Ebay promote/demote listings overseas based on if the seller has Global marked or not. That would be an easy SEO parameter and it would take domestic sellers some time to figure it out, consider the volatility of exchange rates recently.

Yeah, when I list an auction I always have to make sure to unclick the global shipping box, it defaults every time (just like "best offer" which I also always have to unclick). I wonder how much cash ebay ends up raking in from this scam.
