That's too bad, at least he made it to 93, seems there's been a lot of good tv show folks passing away this year, especially within the last 3 months.

      Chris Lee. 93
      Patrick Macnee. 93

Lee once gueststarred in an episode of The Avengers.

      We're losing them fast now.
He always made The Avengers a classy show, such a charismatic man. He wore his own suits as Steed (designed by Pierre Cardin), tells you a lot about how classy he was for real.

He kicked butt with a smile...

I'll always remember him as the cruise ship captain in the Columbo story Troubled Waters

I've never seen The Avengers, but I definitely remember him from Battlestar Galactica.

I remember back in the late 80s/early 90s they'd air the Alistair Sim Scrooge/A Christmas Carol with him hosting, since he played young Marely in the film.

Didn't he play Watson to Lee's Sherlock Holmes in some TV films?

I only saw The Avengers a handful of times on PBS (just like Doctor Who), but I know him from many other things. RIP.

How sad--this world needs more of the panache of The Avengers' John Steed. I'm a big fan.

In the wake of the misbegotten '90s film version, Patrick Macnee noted, "I never carried a gun, because I refused. People think that you're safer behind a gun, but it takes brains to be behind an umbrella."

I enjoyed so many of his performances, RIP sir.

The Avengers with Mcnee and Diana Rigg is one of my all time favorite shows...and its intro music is tops for me, a really classy, sophisticated, and suave intro.

You know...it's eerie...but I was just thinking about Mr Mcnee just last week...and knowing his age...about this possible scenario...and well...unfortunately my thoughts came true.

                    RIP Patrick Mcnee/John Steed.

I've been a huge fan of The Avengers my entire life, literally since I was a toddler. RIP.

Macnee and Christopher Lee first met as English Public school boys and became life long friends. Macnee would eventually play Dr. Watson to Lee's Sherlock Holmes in some tv movies. Macnee is also one of the few actors to have played both Watson and Holmes. He was also in Roger Moore's final Bond film "A View To A Kill".

Patrick Macnee was unforgettable as John Steed through out all the incarnations of The Avengers.

Rest in Peace Mr. Macnee and thank you for all the entertainment.

                          He will always be remembered:

"There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. They may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive far, far away, amongst the stars."

Loved the Avengers show. For some reason I remember him vividly on an episode of Magnum PI. as a Sherlock Holmes type character. RIP Mr. Macnee.

I remember him from The Avengers as a kid and him hosting a Christmas Carol. My favorite movie he was in was "The Howling". I've watched that film so many times and it is great to see him in it, every time.
