Van Patten's role on WHAT'S HAPPENING as a casting rep for a fictional hamburger chain's latest commercial is my favorite "other" role of his---that episode is REAL classic, and Van Patten is a big part of that.
Here's the WHOLE episode
This is pretty cool too!

Yeah, I remember that ep of "What's Happening". Great stuff. We'll miss you, Dick!
Wow! That season's trailer sums up a lot of what most of that show's cast means to me---perfect tribute to Van Patten IMHO.

RIP Dick Van Patten/ Tom Bradford! I loved Eight Is Enough! Remembered him in 1970s Disney movies like Gus and Strongest Man In the World (w/ Kurt Russel)
He was also in Wonder Woman TV episode "Beauty On Parade" and his son Vincent was on WW TV 2-parter "Mind Stealers from Outer Space" as well as being the Bionic Boy On Six Million Dollar Man!Comment
