I liked the first season a lot. I'm still kind of "meh" on this season. The characters are getting more interesting, but I'm still not as engaged as I was with season 1. The first mystery seemed more urgent and necessary for the detectives to get involved with. This season, I just find it hard to get emotionally involved with the death of a corrupt city manager that really only affects the life of a criminal and, by association, another crooked cop.

Good grief...True Detective season finale was truly horrible...what a monumental waste of my time.
It just dragged and dragged...and all that going on for nothing, pointless...pointless...pointless, horrible, horrible, horrible.

I absolutely loved his delivery of those clunky lines he was given. I've been watching a lot of Film Noir on TCM this summer, and man, some of that dialogue was like lead slugs, but it works! I usually can't stand VV, but he just seemed so perfect here. I'm really still trying to figure out what it is I liked about this hot mess of a season.Comment

***SPOILERS***
All the shooting, all that money...for nothing...dead leading men...and it ends with still working on the case in Venezuela with the female detective and her love child...bad cops and politicians get away, unbelievable, give me a friggin break...true detective my butt...more like true the three stooges...all dead...case closed, lol...
P.S. Hey, Colin Ferrell...next time...drive to an enclosed parking lot, ditch the car...and hop on an different one without a tracker...don't drive on the same ride to a forest and become part of open deer hunting season, oh, and say hi to your kid from the afterlife...oh...and Vince Vaughn, you gave a million bucks to the cartel, but won't give up your suit? STAB...DEAD...LOL!!!Last edited by Hector; Aug 12, '15, 1:40 AM.sigpicComment

Season 1 blew my mind. Very impressive stuff, you cared about the characters (warts and all), and you just had to keep watching.
Rustin Cohle was a fascinating character, and his ideas made you think.
Season 2?
I still haven't seen a couple of eps. It's too hard work. Boring, confusing, I couldn't care less about any of the characters.
It's a routine cop show, they just keep adding useless new plots, and every character annoys me.
I couldn't be more disappointed.
Send the box set to people you really hate...
Rust and Marty!
Help us!
You're our only hope!!!!!!.
