Did you ever have a CLUBHOUSE ?

Me and my buds had this abandoned house not far from all of us.
It was a real 2 story house in the woods, but totally falling apart.

We furnished it using sofa's and furnature we found at the local dump

The stairs to the upstairs were gone..
We had to scale the walls to get up there--- which was our REAL clubhouse

It was so dilapidated, once I fell through the floor up to my waste

Later on... when I already grew up --- they bulldozed it down

Just wondering .....
Anyone else have a clubhouse --- or dangerous place you used to hang out ?

The crawl space under our house was ours. We ran extension cords thru the rafters to it.

As a kid my family lived in a brand new subdivision in the process of being build up. Since there were always new houses being build we would liberate all kinds of wood and stuff. On a corner lot we constructed a little clubhouse that was open to any kid in the neighborhood. It was a blast! Later on we build a cool treehouse in one of my friends backyard. Those were good times.

We were always big on treeforts. Don't know how I didn't break a leg.

We never had a real one per say,but we had woods up the street we use to go play in and made a couple junky tree house type structures.No walls or roofs,sometimes barely even a floor .But we always made the best at what we had,I remeber Doug stole a centerfold picture from his dads magazine and she always had a spot.

Me and friends built several clubhouses in our neighborhood growing up. None of them were fancy, just a bunch of old boards nailed to trees and such, one had a "secret" compartment for hiding Playboys my one friend stole from his dads stash

Nope, no clubhouses, since I lived in NYC, but it was always fun going to a friend's house who had big closets or appliance boxes and walkie-talkies. We always played spy or something and those closets or boxes were our headquarters.

I had a treehouse out in the orchard behind our corral. It was great, but it was originally built in the 1940's and by the seventies was getting a little run down. Last time I was at the farm (different people own it now) I noticed the tree house floor was still there, but the side panels and the "crowsnest" (which was a small platform higher up in the tree), had long since fallen down.

Our "fort" in my backyard was about as cheesy and ill conceived as a fort could be. 4 pallets covered with nasty carpeting stapled to them, 4 rusty green iron stopsign posts holding up some thin plywood walls, and one of those super duper blue tarps for a roof. It was enough to keep us moderately dry in a rainstorm, but mostly it killed the grass in my backyard for a couple of years.

we built one under s tree once that lasted about 2 months,we got home one day and it was gone,management in the building said not to do it again

I had it lucky...about a mile from my house (right off the edge of my dad's property) was an abandoned train roundhouse...it was HUGE!!! Had a lot of fun in there...

I didn't have a club or treehouse, but the mext door neighbor did. I was actually a really cool one. It was a treehouse and it had a roof, walls (a floor, of course) and even screened in windows. There was a ladder that lead up to it. I guess it was about 15 feet off of the ground.
