What makes your body feel old, Tuesday after work I helped a friend take down a couple trees. We spend several hours up and down the ladders hanging off the roof and cutting down limbs and finally the stumps. Feeling fine heading to bed that night , Wed. morning my legs and back were sore and achy and I thought heck a couple years ago this never would have happened. What makes your body feel old?

Feeling fine heading to bed that night , Wed. morning my legs and back were sore and achy and I thought heck a couple years ago this never would have happened. What makes your body feel old?" Also, I've learned working in a warehouse that you really need to stay hydrated or replace the electrolites. I HATED gatoraide when I was a kid because it tasted like sweat. This stuff has saved me the last 3 years working in a warehouse that has no AC. I usually used to go through one 32 ounce bottle of gatoraide about half way though the day and then the other half refill the bottle with 32 ounces of water. Never had any sort of cramping or pain...and believe me, moving 20 ft. 2 inch cast iron and galvanized pipe will give you pain. Especially in the shoulder area.

I painted our daughter's room a few weeks ago, and the next day, my legs were incredibly sore, from going up and down the ladder and stretching all day long. I hit 40 and fell apart!
I feel a bit better this week, because while we were on vacation I did a lot of walking and bike riding. I try to walk as much as I can, but have little time for any other exercise.

I usually wake up feeling broken. The day then goes downhill after that.

Arthritis. That's the only thing that makes me feel old. If it weren't for having no remaining cartilage in my knees, I would absolutely lose track of two or three decades of elapsed time.Comment

As we age our test levels drop big time. It effects our energy, stamina, strength and recovery. On your next doc visit get that checked. Also get a good multi-vitamin and stay as active as you can. I have bad tendonitis in my elbow but the more I use it the better it feels. If you don't use it, you'll lose it, it's true, lol. Hope you get to feeling better.Comment

I generally try not to overdue it with strenuous work like that anymore because I suffer for it for days afterwards. unless I am on some serious time constraints, I usually only will work half day on tings like taking down trees or construction projects. of course, when I really get into a construction project on the house, I usually force a timeframe on myself and so put in longer days. it's just the way I am, LOL. it does get harder and harder every year thoughComment

Only a handful of things. The biggest change if I have to drive back from somewhere at night and the drive an hour and half or longer I will stay over now. I'm just naturally tired at night, especially if I've spent hours driving to/at an event. Beyond that can't say there's anything I find more taxing than before. Full disclosure,I've only started exercising an watching my diet eh past couple of years so it probably has more to with that than the aging process.Comment

While I don't have quite the strength of stamina of my 20s and 30s (obviously my prime years)...now at 53...I'm in better condition than the worst decade of my life, my 40s...I was really a mess a ten years ago.
Hey, don't sweat it...you worked hard...a lot of teens can't do what you just did...I swear...lots of young people are lazy bums anyway...and they will get old too.
Father Time is undefeated...don't sweat it, man...a pain here and there is okay...just be thankful you are not paralyzed or physically more incapacitated...enjoy the soreness...it's a sign that you are active, good for you...

I have one lingering pain...and it has been there on and off for the last 20 years or so...my right shoulder. It stems from both work and sports...my rotator cuff has some calcification...it's years of wear and tear.
But other than that...nothing else hurts, no back pain, no knee pain, thank goodness.sigpicComment
