Insignificant to the world, but things you've forgotten existed

I was just surfing the web and came across a reference to Pillsburry's Funny Face drink mixes. Basically a Kool-Aid competitor. Now there is absolutely no reason why my forgetting that this product ever existed would in anyway be important, but all the same the flood of memories of being in a shopping cart while my mom pushed me down the aisle, seeing the drink mix and wanting to get it, my mom one day finally relenting and my deciding that it tasted awful put a smile on my face.

Anyone else come upon a forgotten food, product, toy from their childhood that all of a sudden that repressed memory came back. I don't mean serious stuff, just fun things. Like Pals vitamins or Libbyland TV dinners.

(man, am I glad my mom didn't just let me eat that kind of stuff most of the time)
    It's all good!

Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies. I know they still make them because my wife will occasionally purchase a box "for the kids". I can't help but have one here and there and talk myself into thinking the oatmeal has some nutritional value.

Tang- Some people still say its around but I have not seen it in ages up here in Buffalo. I had the coolest moonbuggy toy mail in toy from Tang.

Aero Bars- These things were whipped up chocolate filled with air bubbles. Light and creamy chocolate.MMmmmmmmmmmmm

Good and fruity- What these things cause cancer or something? We still have Good And Plenty.

Grape Tic Tacs- Maybe its the cancer thing again ?

Grape twizzilers- OK I see a pattern here.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
          Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

Byrd's Eye Cool & Creamy pudding
            Byrd's Thick & Frosty milkshakes
            Merry Go Round Toaster pastries
Koogle peanut butter (my fave was chocolate)
            grape flavored Tang

But there were other things besides food...

When I first heard about You Tube (and had a dial-up connection), I ran across a commercial for Small Shots toys. They were these little cute dolls made by Hot Wheels. Most of them were on skates, but some were on scooters and things. I had completed forgotten about these until I saw the commercial. I remember my Aunt Janet bought these for me and my cousin Aundrea. I had Breezy Bridget.

Another one were Finger Pops. Pretty much kinda of dime store item that looked like a lot of fun in the ads. They were small foam-like cylinders that you squeezed between your fingers and would make a loud POP when you launched them. I liked them, but I think I would have liked them more of I couldn't taken them outside and shot them at targets and friends like in the commercials, but Mom wouldn't let me.

There used to be these small cookies called Snaps. There were the Cocolate type in a brown and white box and the Cocolate Chip style in a red and white box. They were from Nabisco and on each box there was a pic of the cookie and a face like a cat drawn on it. I had not had any in years and thought to buys some but as I was browsing thru a supermarket a few years ago I couldn't find any. I guess they stopped making them in the 1990's at some point.

Anyone remember "cheese" that came in a tube like packaing (think how sausage is packaged) but had a cap so you could squeeze the cheese out from the middle? I thought about that for the first time a few weeks ago. I used to love that stuff on crackers as a kid. This was before I discovered Easy Cheese. I know both are horrible for you, but when you're a kid and constantly moving, you can take it.

                      Tasted like powdered cool-aid

                        Also,
                        I forgot the name.....
But there was these wax bear treats.
They were like and inch and a half tall.
The outside was literally WAX -- and quite disgusting..
The inside was filled with honey

Weird treat... But I used to eat them

Yes, those giant pixie sticks still exist. They are packaged in a plastic two foot straw and like you said is nothing more than sugared Kool Aid.

I also remember the flavor filled wax sticks....just the plain ones. I would chew the wax until I removed every last bit of flavor from it before pitching it.

I remember buying some for my kids not to long ago and they bit off the tops poured the syrup in their mouths and threw away the wax even though I told them that the wax was ok to chew until the flavor was gone....go figure.

I remember an old soup commercial from the early 70s that was animated. I can't remember who made the soup or what it was called. It was one of those Cup o'Noodles or Oodles of Noodles type things. But I used to love the animation in the commercials it was similar in style to the "Yellow Submarine" animation I think. This one has been bugging me for years trying to figure it out.
