Pics from My Weekend - Niagara Falls Comic Con 2015 PIC HEAVY

Sadly, I couldn't make it to Mego Meet, but I had a swell time at the Niagara Falls Comic Con. This was by far the best year yet (my third). Did the whole celebrity thing, and dressed as Batman for one of the 3 days. I'll let my pics do the talking.

    Margot Kidder

    Cassandra Petersen (Elvira)

Billy Dee Williams (In my Colt45 hat)

Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead) and Tom Savini (who also did the make up for Creepshow)

They had a photographer there to take professional pics of costumes, so I got a session:

    The Original Screen Used Batcopter

    BatCycle

The Canadian 501st Garrison set up insanely detailed set pieces. Hats off to those guys. Their work is incredible.

Plus they had the Force Awakens Stormtroopers

And I'll finish it off with a montage of my favorite costumes from the Con.

And finally, Sunday was the 30th Anniversary of the Goonies so Mikey (Sean Astin) swore the Fratelli Brothers (Joe Pantoliano and Robert Davi) in as Honorary Goonies, thereby burying the hatchet.

    Some takeaways:
    • Elvira is as lovely as ever.
    • Margot Kidder reminds me of my Aunt now, but she is still sharper mentally than Billy Dee Williams, who was unsure if he was in Canada or Buffalo.
    • There were probably more girls than guys at the Con.
    • The Border Crossing Patrol guys love this Con. Still wearing my Batman Costume (sans cowl), the Border guy asked me no questions, but simply declared "Comic Con", and waved me into the U.S.
    • Richard Hatch is still a very passionate person, but is mistaken when he says Ron Moore's Galactica was better than Glen Larson's.
    • The other cosplayers, who actually constructed their costumes, have far more talent than I, who simply assembled my costume. There's a difference. I salute them.
    • Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead) is the most friendly, vibrant presence in the room. That man is the new King of Cool as far as I'm concerned.

And all this despite Nichelle Nichols and Yvonne Craig's unfortunate cancellations. This was the best Con I'd ever been to. Had a blast, and can't wait for next year.

Thanks for the great photos. Damn Cassandra looks amazing, wish this didn't conflict with the Meet.

It absolutely kills me that this conflicts with Mego Meet every year. From what I'm told by friends who both attend and table there, it's by far the best con currently going on in Southern Ontario.

Is that you in the Batman costume ?

If so, you wear it extraordinarily well

          This is fantastic!

Niagara was my consolation prize to myself for not going to Mego Meet. Took a few of the kids, a cousin and a buddy to the show. Not surprisingly you took a picture with my pal Sam ..

This is me on the left at the show with Richard Comely, creator of Captain Canuck, and Monster Matt with a painting Matt did for me.

If they ever decide to remake the 66 Batman TV show, you got my vote to play Batman,
that's one damn good costume, to bad there was no Robin around to share pics with.

You seriously need to do a '66 Batman parody --- hopefully with timebomb and shark

Allow me to compliment you on your jawline, sir--you give Mr. West a run for his money.

Seriously, that's a marvelous costume and the con looked like a lot of fun.

Awesome pictures! Looks like a "Bat-tastic" time! I love how the Joker is holding a Svengoolie chicken! I meet Cassandra Peterson at a con once, she's really nice. We know why Nichelle couldn't make it, what happened to Yvonne?

And I'm SO jealous that you got to sit in the Batcopter and Batcycle! Mikey's right, you need to make a '66 Batman parody!

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

                          Everything.

Love the Batman costume. And all those you took pics with.

The Pic on location of Superman 2 is cool.
