    when mailing

If your sending cash in the mail please fold it in a opaque piece of paper and use standard size mailing envelopes.& money orders are the best .
when mailing anything ,Please put your address , the receiver's address inside the package or envelopes. That way it has a better chance getting where it has to go.
padding,: nothing beats crumpled Newspaper, when nothing else is around.
Boxes: a sturdy corrigated box in best ,NOT Hostess capcake box.
Make sure small parts are in a zip lock baggie, not shopping bag,if you can
put outfits and figures in a clear zip lock bag this will prevent them from getting dirt and wet if the post man has to carry it all round with him in the rain .

Lately I have Bricks with money tied to them sent to me.

Now for the nasty remarks can start.

    Okay you lost me somewhere.
Those seemed like pretty common practices though?
    No?

A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

Not sure how putting the address inside the package or envelope helps. Might be ok if the post office people have X-Ray vision...(might explain why this person isn't getting some of their packages though).

Those all sound like reasonable requests.

the post office request you to put the adress in the box ,just incase the
outside of the addressed box becomes unreadable .
each PO has it own postalworker that opens the item to inspect it ans see if there is a address or bill or some item to help them deliver the package.

Do you guys find you prefer the Post Office above a place like the UPS store or FedEx?
                  It's all good!

The UPS Store (the store formerly known as Mail Boxes Etc.) sucks.

If you want to do things right, just receive a package from Europe and follow what they do.

I don't think I have ever received a package where the person did not thoughtfully package and box it, brown wrapping on the outside of the parcel (I don't know if it's a requirement but it looks nice) and just dutifully making sure that the contents are well taken care of en route.

I have to agree with Richard's comments on this matter...

And, like Paul, I can also say "You'd be surprised at some of the packages I get..."

That's why I do my best to package everything as securely and well padded as I can at the time I send it out. Better to be safe than sorry.
