My latest painting...Karloff as The MUMMY in resin!

This is a resin model kit measuring over 12" tall...it's 1/3 scale. Of course I painted it in classic silver screen style!

      Brilliant, movie quality work.

Did you use a wash to create the shadows and highlights effect?

        ^Thanks for the compliments guys...

I used everything. A combination of spray paint, acrylics, washes, drybrushing, charcoal, and chalk pastels.

VERY nicely done. I tell you what Dwayne. You should seriously consider entering some of your stuff into Wonderfest. They have the biggest model and figure show in the world and your paints would receive enormous praise in that arena. Excellent work.

Thanks for the kind words Tom.
I've actually entered Wonderfest twice and won both times...an accomplishment I'm very proud of considering the number of entries. Silver the first year and bronze the second year. Both were for silver screen monster kits.

Thank you VERY much for that comment.

I can never forget Zita Johann's words about his eyes...I have always tried to capture the look she spoke of.

“When I first met Karloff, I felt this incredible wave of sadness. His eyes were like shattered mirrors. Whatever his pain was, it was very deep and very much a part of his soul.”
