Have you ever chased The Green Fairy?

I've only had it a couple times. I thought it was okay when sipped, but as a shot was like sand blasting my throat.

A couple of my friends are so called aficionados and have done the whole ritual for me once or twice.

Sadly, I have almost no stomach for liquor these days and it's pretty much just an ipecac to me. Which seems pretty insulting considering the lengths these guys have to go to get the stuff.

It's taste reminds me of black sambuca, a liqueur that I broke up with in 1991.
