    Ever have a motorcycle or mini-bike ?

Back in the old days, I had an off road (used for off roading only) Yamaha 100 "Street and Trail Bike"

Ran on 2 cycle engine oil --- and man it was a ***** to start

But when it got going, I was the king of the trails

Yes, in 1985, at 11 years old, I got a Suzuki RM60. I loved it! Made trails in the woods and everything.

Oh yea man good thread. My first minibike back in the 70's was a Honda Trail 70.Kind of weird looking little bike but I learned how to ride on it.Then my next was a Yamaha 125 it was a 70's model too. Then moved on up to an 80 Suzuki Rm 250 man would that thing scream until later on in the 80's I got a Yamaha YZ 250 water cooled and all that baby would dust everything around. Man I miss those days riding around on trails and paths.

Thanks for bringing back the memories Jerry

I have had many motorcycles. I got my motorbike licence before my car licence...taught myself to ride in the middle of Tokyo traffic.

I don't trust myself to have one now, because I still love speeding way too much.

Yep! My brother taught me to ride before I was even ten. He's close to 2 years older than me. First time on his bike, I wanna say it was a Honda 70 too, I crashed it into our fence and broke the clutch handle But he didn't get mad, had it fixed the next day.

I got my licence in the early 80's, with the very bike I had trained for it on. Even rode it down to the test site.
Had that bike up until Nov. of last year, when it got ripped off Still highly upset/hurt about it. No clues on it *sigh*

How long do I hang on to the parts that go to it? I took some off it before I put it up.
          Wants, original parts; thinking...

My first and only bike was a Suzuki RM 250. Loved that bike but it didn't last long as i wrecked it. Found out the hard way that bikes and me don't mix well.

Looking into buying a 250 motorcycle or scooter. Gas prices are killing me.

My Dad was a huge motorcycle fanatic in the early seventies. He rode Maaco dirtbikes and Triumph streetbikes. Then my parents got divorced when I was 5 and I was stuck with my loving, motorcycle hating Mom and I never got the chance to be a motorcycle guy.

                        Cool question!

My dad ran a swap shop when I was a kid so I had a wide variety of different worn out mini-bikes and go-karts. Used to tinker with em and eventually they would even run. The most reliable of the bunch was a Montgomery Wards mini-bike that would wear blisters in your palm because the throttle was ***** to turn. I finally got a bright and shiney new Sears go-kart one summer, loved that thing. Tore up the alleys regularly on that one. Seems everytime someone else would ride, they would always head straight for the side of the garage and bust the stearing knuckles. Never failed! I have a picture around here somewhere of me pulling the rope desperately trying to get it to fire.

Moved up to an actual motorcycle next. A beat up Suzuki TM75 at first, then an RM80 and a 125 Hodaka enduro. I never new the actual model of that Hodaka, but man that thing was awesomely fast! At 15 I saved and bought a new Hodaka "Road Toad" lime green beast. Bike was kinda big for the 100cc engine, just never had much get up and go.

It's been a long list of street bikes ever since. Everything from Ninja's to a 69 Sportster.

I never owned any but a good friend of mine had some mini-bikes. They had a few and his dad used to let us take them out as long as we were careful...yeah right.

My brother-in-law had a couple of those 4 wheel RTV's (I was probably 18 at the time) and he let me take it for a ride in the woods. I really opened it up not knowing how they handle or having ridden one before and rode it up a steep incline in a wooded area and had it flip back on me. Luckily, I have good reflexes and jumped off of it before it tumbled over. Thankfully, no damage was done and I returned it to him with only slight psychological trauma.

                            Four wheel ATV's ?

About 10-ish years ago (I forgot exactly when) I read in my local newspaper a teenager was riding his ATV over some railroad tracks, flipped the AVT over on the tracks-- and it cut his head off against the tracks.
I wouldn't have believed it, but it was in the paper.

Not too far from where I used to fish.

Them ATV's (with no role-bars) are pretty dangerous.
