Yeah 14 million dollars he is walking away from and I read he could phone in his lines.... holy crap

I still like the Simpsons, and considering how long they have been on the air, yes it's hard to remain fresh and relevant.

Wonder if the others will follow suit in solidarity.

I can honestly say I've never seen one episode of the Simpsons or Family Guy.

          What?? Iran Prison?

Simpsons is the best show ever on TV. Writers have come and gone but its still as great as ever.

I love the Simpsons. I think I've watched every episode as they aired.

That blows my mind. I felt for sure it was inaccurate info, as I've been a HUGE fan of both Shearer and Star Wars all these years (but I just checked it out---and, dangit he WAS in the movie after all). It's a testament to his vocal skills that I never recognized his voice----I mean I've seen Star Wars a billion times----and seen a gazillion Shearer projects----I really am shocked to hear this info. Can't wait to show off this cool tidbit in upcoming nerd-outs with friends of similar tastes!

That officer was sort of Smithers to Vader's Burns.

I don't think I've watched an episode since around 2000/2001.

Remember the South Park episode, Simpsons Already Did It ?

I think this is starting to pertain to the Simpson's itself.

As for Family Guy, I just can't get into it anymore.

For me it started around the Time Machine/ Nazi/ Flash Gordon episode --- Loved it but practically nothing after that.

So it seems Harry Shearer isn't leaving the Simpson's after all...
