    Retro Star Wars comics

The can of worms opened up by me getting the Harmy Star Wars films had me seeking out if there were any compilations of the early Marvel Star Wars comics.

Imagine my delight when they are available on Amazon Kindle and you can get volumes of roundabout 25 issues (I forget the exact number) for $10 bucks

It was fun to see where Marvel writers took the characters with only that one movie to go on. I am up to the adaption of Empire now. I wonder how the stories will go after Empire.

And guess what, in those comics are half organic half droids that are called..... Borg.

They are so great. Like all expanded universes, the Star Wars expansion was best in its early, manageable infancy. They were close enough to the first film to want nothing more but to capture the tone of fun and adventure.

If you haven't already, Mike, I encourage you to seek out the Star Wars Radio Dramas. They also manage to hit just the right beats with those audio plays.

"And guess what, in those comics are half organic half droids that are called..... Borg. "

The old Captain E-O ride at epcot had the junk aliens dressed just like the what the Borg would become. They also featured a queen whose upper torso was still organic just like the movie Borg queen.
Zombie? Vampire? Evil clown?!? Yes, please.

Oh yes! First Contact was a total ripoff of Captain EO for sure. It's actually quite shocking.

Did you see the Kenner carded figure style front covers that Marvel came up with?
