Anybody taking a vacation this year?

I'm speaking at a conference for work related stuff in Bristol, England in July so we're going to make a family trip out of it. Then over New Years week I'm taking the family to Scotland for a week for my wife. She's an Outlander fan.

I've just returned from a (conference-driven) holiday in the UK/Sardinia/Italy. Spend several days around Bristol/Bath. Nice area. Stayed above a pub founded in 1495! Oak beams, low doors and crooked floors. Loved it.

I might be able to take a long weekend later this year, either to San Diego or Las Vegas........I haven't left the Greater Los Angeles Area since I moved here over two years ago. I certainly need a vacation.......

Our family has owned a summer home on Lake Michigan near South Haven since the 60s. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from the northern Chicago suburbs, so I try to get up there as often as possible. I go for a week every summer and then hit about 6 or so other weekends during the time it's open between April 15 and October 15. Going up in July for our week's stay this year. Made it up there 2 weeks ago for the weekend, and need to get up there about 2-3 more times to finish up a couple of maintenance projects for my parents before the summer rush hits and all my siblings do their week-long stays.

Just left Anaheim this morning after a week at Disneyland/Cal Adventure. We went with my brother and his family. Our son is 4 and my nephew 3.5 - this year they were tall enough to go on the big boy stuff...Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Star Tours, etc. Made it that much more fun.

My wife and kids are going to Denver in May to visit our oldest son. I'm going to Skokie,IL in June.

I was at Disneyworld a month ago over Spring Break. We go every year, usually over Thanksgiving, which we did last November. But my daughter's High School band had a trip planned to Disneyworld and they were to march on Main Street at Magic Kingdom. It was pretty amazing, my daughter has been to Disney at least once a year since she was 2, and getting to march down Main Street was pretty awesome for her.

My wife and I are going to Vegas in June, she has a conference, so we'll be out there for a few days.

After last year's epic (but exhausting) Disney vacation, the Franklin family is hitting the beach and returning to Kiawah Island, SC.

Great, relaxing place to vacation, and you can go into Charleston and take in the sights as well.
