Fire Island Sunken Forest, Montauk Point, Connecticut's Mystic Seaport

My favorite place was Old Bethpage Village Restoration. It was simply a lot of fun and I loved getting as many flavors of candy sticks as I could afford at the General Store.
Ahhhh....Old Bethpage Village Restoration. All I have to say is Birch Beer and Giant Hard Pretzels

The ones that you mentioned that I didn't do was the Twin Towers, Statue Of Liberty and the Empire State Building. I finally figured out why I didn't do them...my fear of heights. Still my favorite is the home of Teddy Roosevelt Sagamore Hill. Have to go back one of these days.

AHHHhhhh!!! Birch beer. Yes. How wonderful!

It was your original post that prompted me to respond to this thread (I've been lurking of late). Sagamore Hill was a Fourth Grade Fun Time. In your original post you also mentioned the Vanderbilt Planetarium, Long Island's answer to the Hayden. I liked the Vanderbilt better as a kid, I think due to the fact that it was not quite as "busy" as the Hayden in NYC. Take THAT Neil DeGrasse Tyson!
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.

My favorite field trip in grade school was going to New Orleans to see King Tut's Treasures in the 70's. I think it was the 5th grade. The big field trip at our school was in the 3rd grade, going to Avery Island, where Tobasco Sauce is made.

My 8th grade class trip was to New York City (short drive from my school in Jersey)

We ate in Little Italy and China Town.

Visited the Daily News Building, World Trade Center, Battery Park and The Fulton Fish Market.

Finally finishing up with seeing Beatlemania on Broadway.

To cap it off Superman The Movie was being filmed at the Daily News Building at the time I was there.

We didn't see any actors but the doors and stuff all said "Daily Planet"
