    New PEANUTS movie character posters...

Didn't know where else to put this, so I figured "General Buzz" would be a good place. Some newly released character posters for the upcoming PEANUTS movie (a film which I'm personally looking forward to MORE than STAR WARS)...

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Neat! I sure hope it's good! Love all of the classic Peanuts specials. Maybe this will be as well done as those were.

Rampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?

They have a lot to live up to with the simplicity of the Lee Mendelson cartoons.

I really hope this is good, and goes over big. My kids are excited to go see it, and so are me and the Missus.

        Nice poster designs!

One thing I'm really digging about this is the fact that the artists don't fully render the characters with a standard 3D model, like a sculpture. When the characters turn, you get the same "cheats" Schultz used, and that is essential to the look and feel of those characters, so bravo to them for sticking to that.

I think the models are a little too detailed if anything. For example, they use Shultz's thick, uneven black line to indicate the mouth, but every single hair is individually rendered. It's a mash-up of two styles that don't go well together.

I think you just hit the nail on the head! Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to it and hope it's great!
