    When Disney scared us..

Well not really but they gave us good movies in there "dark" period. Which ones did you like best and did you see any in the theater at the time?..

I loved both the Witch Mountain movies.

Great stuff! I love Something Wicked This Way Comes. Great early score by James Horner and some truly creepy imagery. Pam Grier plays a creepy witch, and Jason Robards is excellent. Perfect for Halloween time.

Watcher in the Woods... now there's a head trip! Haven't "watched" that one in a while. Time to pull it off the shelf.

I saw Black Hole, Tron and Black Cauldron at the theater. Black Cauldron is a very under appreciated movie.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Black Cauldron is the only one I havn't seen. Going to have to change that. Loved all the others. Can't say I feel the same way about the films from the decade or so that followed.

The Black Cauldron is a Disney movie I would LOVE to see them adapt into a live action movie. That would rock!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I loved "Something Wicked This Way Comes," I watched it repeatedly on HBO.

You're right about "Cauldron", EK--I think the Prydain novels are ripe for adaptation. But if Disney couldn't finish the Narnia cycle, I doubt they would tackle Alexander's stuff.

Something Wicked This way Comes was a staple of the early Canadian "Movie Channel" I've seen it so many times. I'd love to see it get the remake with somebody like Del Toro at the helm, maybe after he's finished with the new Haunted Mansion?
Black Cauldren was the only one I saw in a theater.

If you want old school Disney, I thought Darby O'Gill and the Little People with the hauntingly moaning
Banshee and the dark creepy flying stagecoach, pretty spooky stuff for a kid to see in 1959, but "hey"
you have St. Patrick's day and Halloween all in one movie, pretty cool.
