I know it's only a week into the season, but...

anyone notice that the Tigers just lost their sixth game?

The Orioles (who ESPN said wouldn't win more than 59) have won their fourth (only 55 more to go)

    KC has also won 4

    Baseball fans: discuss....

Too early to tell. The Tigers can quickly win ten in a row......

Everything usually does even itself out through 162 games. I just like these types of starts for the various teams rather than follow all the predictions made by the writers.

The Red Sox have been terrible the last few games. I can't get over that the Orioles have a better record than they do.

Well, for now anyways. Actually, Toronto, Tampa look lots improved this year. Should be interesting.

I'm a big time Dolphins fan (also a Shula fan). I had a friend talking to me today saying wouldn't it be neat if they had lost all 16 games. That gets my ire up just like the prediction of the O's losing 103 games. I always want good competition between teams. Who wants to be assured a win or loss? Why even play?

Orioles will fade quickly. Tampa Bay better, and loaded for the future. Yankees and Red Sox will be ok, but serious signs of age are starting to creep into both of those clubhouses. Watch out for Toronto. They are the best team that nobody knows about in the AL.

The Tigers are better than their record, but don't be suprised if they have prolonged pitching problems which may render their offense somewhat useless. Some bullpen issues there too. Playing in a division with one very good team (Indians), one mediocre team (WSox), one improving team (Royals), and one of the smartest teams in baseball who happen to be in rebuilding mode (Twins), the Tigers don't have a large margin for error.

The West is the weakest in the AL. The Angels should be the class of the division, but one has to wonder how much longer Vlad Guerrerro can carry that team. The A's seem listless, and their MONEYBALL methods have to be questioned now. If they can't get Chavez healthy, they could be in for a long summer. Seattle could be the best team in the division, but they have some if's-can Richie Sexon and Adrian Beltre live up to their bloated salaries, can JJ Putz be the same as 2007, and can Eric Bedard be an anchor for their rotation.

The Mets look to have an advantage in the East, by virtue of the Santana deal and an overall advantage in terms of talent. David Wright is probably the best player that most people are unaware of. Reyes needs to revert to 2006 form. Their rotation lacks depth, and a prolonged absence by Pedro could put the division in peril. The Braves have a great deal of homegrown talent, but they are OLD in the rotation, and any problems from Glavine and Smoltz could spell doom. Francour has a power bat and the right arm of god, but he has to work counts. His OBP is pathetic. The Phils are just too pitching thin. Lidge still has a case of Pujolsitis from the 2005 NLCS. They will score runs, and are the best 1-5 lineup in the NL.

The Brewers have a great offense, bad defense, and a solid rotation. Ben Sheets has to stay healthy for them to win the division. They will score runs in bunches with Braun and Fielder. The Cubs look like the best team on paper.....which is always troubling for any Cubs fan. The team is better than last year, but will 85 wins hold off the Brewers? Will Kerry Wood's arm remain attatched to his body? Will Zambrano's era dip down to where it used to be? Will Fukudome boom or bust? He will play Gold Glove D in right it appears. The Reds have a surplus of young talent, although Dusty is the last guy I would trust in terms of the health of those young arms. Harang needs a repeat performance of 2007. Patterson leading off is a bad idea. Dusty tried that in Chicago.
The Cardinals have been rebuilding since 2005, but they had the gift of a WS title in 2006. Most teams aren't good enough to do that in rebuilding phase. @ a thousand questions about the Cardinals, but regardless, they are likely better than expected, and may be a thorn in the side if they can stay afloat until Carpenter and Mulder get back from the DL. The Pirates are the Pirates.

The West is the best division in baseball....sorry AL east. The Dbacks are pitching rich....if the Unit has ANYTHING left, they will be tough to beat. The Dodgers and Padres will be right there too, but one has to wonder if SD can score enough runs to support Peavy, Young and Maddux. They have questions with their 4th and 5th spots in the rotation. The Rockies will be hard pressed to duplicate 2007, especially in this division. They look like a .500 team to me and the book will be out on Tulowitzki.

                    Should be an exciting season.

^^ you could've atleast mentioned the Marlins lol! for having the lowest payroll in baseball they aren't playing all that bad and I'm sure they'll surprise a lot of people, and Hanley Ramirez is quickly establishing himself as the best young player in baseball,I give him about 2 years before he becomes the best and Boston or NY start fighting for him
