For those of you who get Comcast digital cable, "The Red Balloon" is in the free movie section. I have fond memories watching this film in school assemblies as well as the CBS Saturday Film Festival. I just taped it.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that...I'm saddened to hear that.

Hardy Girl did not know that though, she can't be blamed for this thread.

No apology needed. I think we all feel your pain. I appreciate the advice and will never let Lizzy be alone with a balloon. I never realized there was a danger. I wish you and your family the best and hope over time things get better for you guys.

it was a freak accident that can happen in like 1 in a million chance...and it happened to us..her name was bethaney and she was 6....here in a couple of weeks, it will have been her 11th bday, so i will probably put up a memorial post, i normally do that..just to remind myself of her and share your memory with people....

I'm really sorry. You don't know how many times I have had a near disaster with my kids sticking balloon remnants in their mouths when they were little.

As far as The Red Balloon, I think I saw it way too many times as a child.
