    Baseball 2015

Did you watch any opening day games? Do you follow baseball?

I've been a Dodger fan since moving here and I will follow the season, despite no games on TV here. Who's your team?

That said, I understand the arguments against baseball- slow pace, long season, PEDs, greed, etc. But I still enjoy the game.

Never liked watching baseball on TV...but going to the park and watching in person is pretty fun...the baseball experience...the hot dogs, the roasted peanuts, the giant pretzels, the expensive watered down flat beers...it's all good, lol.

I've been to three World Series...all involving the A's...a win against the Giants (and Loma Prieta earthquake, I was not at Candlestick, only went to the Oakland Coliseum)...and two loses against the Reds and your very own Dodgers (damn you, Kirk Gibson, lol).

Didn't pay for anything...as my sister used to work for radio station KSFO...the official Oakland A's radio station at the time.

I played in a weekend warrior softball league in San Francsico for 10 years...fun times...lots of beer drinking, lol.

Angels, not sure how they will do this year, but heck that Mike Trout is something spectacular to watch
also like the Dodgers too, this could be the year they get back to the series since 1988, keep an eye on them.

It's tough when your team is 3,000 miles away, so I have to watch them on the MLB extra innings package
at least I can see the Angels in person when they come to Fenway.

The Yankees. Feels weird without Jeter for sure and outside of A-Rod, they really don't have an identity this year which is not a good thing. Out of a 162 game season I usually tune in to about 150 give or take either on the radio or the TV. John Sterling has been doing games on radio since I was 10, he's basically the voice of summer to me.

Baseball is the only sport I follow. I'm a lifelong Twins fan. I typically attend several games a year, but this season I suspect I might not attend as many. There is a brand new independent minor league ballpark in my neighborhood, and I'm looking forward to attending those games more than I am the Twins.

Orange and Blue...New York Mets fan since 1975. I really do think that they can win 90 games this year as long as they stay healthy. Terry Collins better change the lineup though. David Wright is not the #2 hitter in that lineup. He's either a #3 or #5. Granderson is not a leadoff hitter...that should be Lagares. Murphy is not the #6 either....he is a classic #2. Thank God that the Mets have starting pitching. They've needed all the extra starters that they can slide in after Wheeler went down for the season with TJ surgery in spring training. They have major league ready minor leaguers in Syndegard, Montero, and Matz. Funny thing is everyone was groaning about Colon getting the first game start...but he looked really good in the 6 innings he gave them on opening day. Not bad for a 41 year old.

I'll pull for the Braves even though they traded half the team, including Krembel. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Thursday's Mets vs. Nationals game should be really good. Harvey vs. Strasberg at 1PM on MLB network across the country and SNY here in New York Metro area. Should be just like the first to games of the series so far. Low scoring and great pitching.

Let's just hope that the high rate of shutouts doesn't continue (and it probably will not). There have been 13 shutouts, so far, this season with only 37 games played. Most seasons don't see as many shutouts as there have been in this past week of the 2015 season. Though, I do concede that April baseball can be a bit "weird."

Really hoping to go see some Jays games this summer. I love sitting in the nosebleeds with a $13 ticket and relaxing with a few beer and taking it all in.

I was raised in New York State, in a region where everyone(including my siblings) were Yankees fans. Never one to conform, I grew up cheering for the Mets. They got it together and won their last World Series in 1986(the same year as my High School Senior Year)- Great Game Six rally. When I moved to L.A., I switched to the Dodgers as I have no plans to return east.

I also attended a World Series Game, in 1979- when the Pirates beat the Orioles. Although in the game I saw Baltimore won.

                        Yeah, April baseball is weird.

Huge Baseball fan. Lifelong LA Dodgers fan. I grew up in San Bernardino and Barstow, CA. I also follow Aneheim Angels and Oakland A's.

I've been out in Colorado for over 10 years now, so I love going to Rockies games. Absolutely beautiful park. Went to the World Series when they were beat by Boston.

Yankees Fan since 69 my earliest memory was watching Mantle's retirement. I grew up with Messer,White and Rizzuto as the voices of the Yanks...Sterling gets on my nerves on the radio...lol I don't have big expectations for them this year....Pitching is not bad, but if injuries creep up with their anemic batting, it will make it another long summer in the Bronx...but I'll still root for them....

I love baseball beyond words. Played all the way through high school and turned down some D3 offers to try to walk-on to the team at the University of Illinois, which was ranked #22 in the country at the time. I could hit just about anything, but a very below-average arm did me in. There's just not a real big demand for high-average-hitting 1Bs with tons of speed. Don't regret it one bit, especially once I got a chance to watch Scott Spezio take batting practice after me. Good lord could that guy rake.

Huge Cubs fan. Die hard. It's been a rough 43 years of fandom for me, needless to say. 2003 was painful beyond belief.

Also a big Red Sox fan. I know there are some who say you can't really cheer for 2 teams, but when I was about 5 or 6 years old, one of my neighbors was drafted by the Red Sox. Now, in my mind, that meant he was going to be playing for them in no time, so I used to religiously check the box scores in the paper. 78 was a tough year for me. As was 86. I've since gotten over the many disappointments the Red Sox had given me in my life. Now, if only the Cubs could do the same. It won't be this year, but next year? Possibly. Tons of young talent on that team. Once they figure out how to win, they're going to be a load for anyone to handle.
