I'm with you. I think a lot of stuff is overblown, and there are so many other factors. Take my dad...he's the oldest of three brothers and has smoked at least a pack a day for 50 years and is in great health. His two younger brothers never smoked a day in their lives and both died from cancer. One died almost 20 years ago from lung cancer and the other about 5 years ago from oral cancer. Go figure. And the one who died youngest was a health nut! Jogged, ate yogurt and birdseed, didn't drink, etc. Lot of good it did him.

I don't smoke, drink coffee or alcohol. Diet Coke is my only vice and the only thing that can put a dent into my migraines.

I drink soda daily. Probably 2-4 a day.

Read the ingredients in Mountain Dew, after reading about 25 different chemicals, the last one says
simply (yellow #5) Wikipedia that, you'll never touch the stuff again, and that used to be my
favorite soda. I usually go for spring water, vitamin water, low fat milk, and "yes" sometimes
a ginger ale, sprite or pepsi every blue moon but not to often.

When I was a little kid, cokes were a treat that we had from time to time, not something we had every day and certainly not at every meal. By the time I was a teenager that changed. Not sure why the change. Probably my parents made more money and could afford it. Now, I don't think of a carbonated drink as a treat; it's just an option.

I stopped drinking all soda's almost 15 years ago. It was tough at first, but I don't even have any interest in them anymore. I drink water, an iced tea from time to time, and milk for breakfast occasionally. No coffee or hot tea for me either.

Just drink Seltzer water. You'd be surprised how after about a month, you don't miss soda.

Yeah I remember people doing that with George Burns. They never mentioned the fact he did push-ups when he first got up in the morning.

Whenever I drink soft drinks, I usually stick to ones made with pure cane sugar. In saying that, I don't even drink one weekly (many times, not monthly).

I gave up soda years ago. In truth, I may have one like once a year, but actually I don't miss it too much.

When I go off soda, I go through withdrawals and feel like crap for at least a week. Within two months I lose 3-5 pounds, and eventually feel better than when I was drinking it. It's hell on teeth too.

Sipping a 'real sugar' Pepsi as I type this:-( I won't let my kids touch the stuff. I fell off the wagon a few months ago when I decided to take a break from booze. God knows what would happen if I gave up toys.

BS!...Soda is a breeding ground for Cancer and Diabetes...

Soda is an Acidic drink (Cancer thrives in an Acidic body environment)

Most Soda contains High Fructose Corn Syrup (High concentrated sugar which is BIG cause for Diabetes and Heart disease) Too much sugar is certainly not good for you, especially white Sugar (White poison).Again,Sugar also makes the body Acidic

Soda also contains Phosphoric Acid which is known to leech Calcium from your bones, which make the bones weaker..If you put a boiled egg in a glass of soda,it will dissolve the shell to nothing as the egg shell is made of Calcium. Also,Soda is also a known remedy for being a Rust remover or cleaning a car battery.

Some Soda's (especially Diet) contain Aspartame, which is a chemical additive known for causing Cancer and Alzheimer's

This addictive drink will cause eventual health problems over time and it would be best for optimal health to stay away from it
