This is mostly at Walmart. I hate when the cashier puts your stuff all around the carousel that holds the shopping bags, doesn't spin it so you can see where she put what you just purchased, then starts putting in the next person's stuff while you're spinning the thing to try to find your bags.

Also at Walmart, 90% of the shopping carts seem like they've been run over by a truck. They're just complete wobbly junk.

Next, people that start eating food before they've even paid for it. Then they hand an open bags of cookies or TastyKake's to the cashier. Yuck. And it's always adults who don't really need to be eating cookies and TastyKake's at any time.

Now that I think about it, most of this is what happens at Walmart. I hate that place.

Why must almost everyone under the age of 40 talk on the phone while they're grocery shopping ?

Adding to that, anyone who uses a Bluetooth headset while shopping. You think they're talking to you when they're talking to someone on the phone.

What are some of the things that drive you nuts while shopping?

            Mine are:

Aisle "herds"...you know, two or three people with carts all stopped in the middle of the aisle gabbing, totally oblivious to the fact you can't get through.

People who get in line with their cart and leave it there while they continue to shop because they "forgot a few things"

Cashiers asking 20 freaking questions when you check out. Can I have your phone number? Email? Do you have a rewards card? Would you like to sign up for one? Will this be on your *blank* charge? Do you need any gift cards? Batteries? Would you like to buy an extended warranty? Would you like to donate to *blank*?
I'll agree with those especially the first, can't stand people who are oblivious to the world around and block the aisles.

Add the being asked what are you but if for, I get asked this all the time when I'm getting material at Jo Anne Fabric "What are you making?". I feel like saying none of your business.

Luckily in the past year-ish their popularity seems to be waning (at least in my town).

It annoys me when I browse online and then I get bombarded by Google ads for the products.

Ugh! The people who stand at the counter and pull all those friggin' keno tabs, then exchange the winners for more tickets, and hold up the line for ever!! Getting stuck behind two of those people back to back is just unbearable. I just want a bag of milk, do I really have to wait 20 mins in line?

For me it's the wallet of 649 tickets, followed by making the clerk check their winners and then the long perusal of scratch tickets. I see the same faces every week, always at prime time, so you stand there arms loaded with bread and milk watching an addict get their fix.

I work RETAIL hell and understand ALL of your anger and issues. The crappy thing is that corporate America FORCES the endless questions on their cashiers or else face HELL for not doing so. Cashiers have a quota of what they must accomplish besides sales. My retail store asks people for both a members card and if they want to register to get magazine subscriptions which really sucks. I also see people leave their carts behind and women who have 8 hr conversations as they hog the isles. I once went to the grocery store and some lazy lady paid for her stuff and left her cart behind in front of me. The woman behind me ran up to her and told her to put her cart away because," She was being lazy and creating an inconvenience to everyone on the line." The crazy thing I see are people who are lazy and leave product behind, trash the store and then leace their half eaten food on the store shelves.

I hate it when people aren't watching where they're walking........and they drift into my path with their bodies or their carts.......!

I also hate it when kids act all hyper in stores, get in my way or they scream.

Luckily where I live in southern middle Tennessee, they usually have a separate lottery line. Lots of folks from Alabama drive up just to play the lottery. But you guys are right on with walmart. I've stopped going. It's always absolutely filthy. Wal mart even opened two more stores in Florence Al. Seems like they could have used the extra money and payroll to actually CLEAN the pre existing one and pay for more help so people wouldn't have to stand in line for thirty minutes. I mean I've seen bus stations with cleaner floors and bathrooms. It's worth it to me to go to Publix for groceries and Target for other stuff.
