Cherry vs Strawberry

Both so similar yet so different.

Why is strawberry ice cream more popular than cherry ice cream? But why is cherry topping on ice cream more popular than strawberry topping?

They both seem to go great with chocolate...although chocolate covered cherries seem to be more popular than chocolate covered strawberries.

Why is there a cherry cola, but not a strawberry cola?

Why is there strawberry cheesecake but hardly any cherry cheesecake?

Why is there cherry pie more popular than strawberry pie?

I love both...but if it was my last day on Earth, and I could only have a serving of one...it would be cherry.

BTW, I once worked one Summer picking strawberries...and let me tell you...extremely hard work...as you have to bend over or squat for hours at a time...from dusk till dawn...extremely low paid too...you get paid by the crate...all my respect for those workers...not an easy job. Picking cherries is easier...at least is high off the ground on a tree.

Cherry Twizzlers superior, strawberry Twizzlers inferior.

Unfortunately, Cherry Twizzlers are rarer than Hen's teeth. Been about five years since I last saw 'em. You can get the nibs and the pull and peel, but Cherry Twists are a great rarity.

I wish they were available equally with the Strawberry, but I think the red would create brand confusion. If only Cherries were a different color.

Locally I can also get peach flavored licorice twists which are very good, especially with a Peach Nehi, but in Cherry vs. Strawberry it really depends on the context. I prefer Strawberry ice cream to Cherry. I prefer Cherry soda to Strawberry. As for the actual fruit, I think I prefer Strawberry slightly more, but I'll eat cherries until I get a stomachache.

With fresh cherries...I like to squeeze lime juice all over them...as well as chili powder/paprika/hot sauce...and a tad of sea salt...it's the Mexican way...heck...us beaners love to add lime, chili, and salt to all kinds of fruits...watermelon, mango, jicama, cucumber, papaya, pomegranate, avocado, pineapple...lol. Interestingly enough...not on strawberries or bananas though. Oh, but on fried green plantains, yes...we are strange people, lol.

Speaking of Nibs....did you know they now make Nibs in a "rope" style, like the Red Vines rope? Wife brought home a bag last week....they're like crack. Same length as classic Twizzlers.

I like them both pretty equally, but I love cherry pie much more than strawberry.

Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia is pretty good, but I think I'd still eat traditional strawberry ice cream first.

Cherry Jolly Ranchers are much better than Strawberry.

Cherry Icee's and Slurpee's are awesome - don't think I have ever seen a strawberry one.

Cherry pie is my top pie. For gluttonous purposes, a Hostess Cherry pie would do the trick for me.

Strawberry Milk...OD'd on that stuff when I was a kid.
Like Cherry Pop-Tarts better than Strawberry.
Prefer chocolate covered Strawberries over chocolate covered cherries.

My fave treat these days is Raspberry Sorbet covered in Hot Fudge.
