I am finding rewatching the pilot episode to be very helpful in understanding what's going on. This is an excellent series.

No one mentioned this yet, but last night's pilot episode had the highest ratings EVER for a series premiere on cable.

I haven't finished the first episode but what I did see I really enjoyed. I'm trying to really pay attention because I know certain things are going to be important later. I think the main draw for me is to see how he gets from here to being, "Saul."

Then you should not watch this series, because you are already aware that Vince Gilligan does not know how to tell an engaging story, and you will remember how Breaking Bad relied solely one only one character.
