Have not had Mickey Dees breakfast in over a year. But my fave is a plain sausage McMuffin, no egg, no cheese, just the sausage patty in between the muffin.
The hash brows are tasty, but have zero nutritional value, lol.
Washed down by either milk or orange juice.
But if you ever have my homemade huevos con chorizo burrito...you'll love me forever, lol.
I don't have a BK locally, so it's McDonalds for me (I don't like BK anyway, so I can't imagine their breakfast menu is anything special). But it sucks that McDonalds in Canada doesn't have biscuit sandwiches anymore, so I get a egg and sausage McMuffin. Tim Horton's has biscuit breakfast sandwiches but they kind of suck (they don't even melt the cheese!) and their hash browns aren't nearly as good as McD's ones are.
Long-Winded Answer
I was always curious over the last few years when I heard those Wal-mart commercials stating, "If you replaced one fast food breakfast a week with a home cooked breakfast from Wal-mart,...." exactly how many days a week do some folks eat breakfast out, especially fast food? In my world, fast food is something eaten only in a dire emergency. My last fast food? We got bags of McDonald's burgers last August when we bought lunch for the local teens who were working on our harvester during blueberry season.
We do eat breakfast out once every couple weekends when we sit at the romeo table in our local greasy spoon. Before he passed away, my FIL was there every Saturday and Sunday, and many of the folks at the romeo table were relatives or long-time family friends. We still try to go at least one Sunday a month to keep in touch with the cousins, former neighbors, long-time buddies who klatch every weekend.
Short Answer
If I absolutely had to eat a fast food breakfast, it would be McDonald's.
McDonald's, and it's not even close. I try not to get the hash browns, since there's pretty much nothing good health-wise that can come from eating those things. But, an Egg McMuffin isn't too horrific for you (300 calories), if that's all you get along with a coffee with no sugar.
Exactly.
I also liked the bean & cheese breakfast taco from Steak & Shake, but they recently got rid of it. I don't like the breakfast offerings from BK or Taco Bell. Surprisingly, White Castle can be downright edible.
BK has nothing I like. I like Whataburger's Taquito, then Jacks Supreme Sausage Sandwich, then McD's Sausage , Egg, Cheese Biscuit.
Recently I have been having difficulty finding a McD with people who know how to operate and or maintain their Icecream machines, so they have lost a lot of cred with me.
Mickey D's all the way. While it's an infrequent treat these days I'm good for a sausage biscuit and hash brown when I indulge. Hard to believe I had that several times a week at one point!
I can make better and healthier egg mcmuffins and breakfast burritos at home than is available from either chain, and do so quite frequently.
But, when it comes to either/Or between the two, I admit that I will often get drive-thru breakfast at McDonald's on Saturday mornings en route to military reenactments to save time. And it is always two sausage-and-egg burritos, with a couple packets of salsa and an orange juice, because i will already have with me a to-go cup of freshly brewed Starbucks French Roast coffee from home.
I don't even remember the last time I had breakfast at BK.
