Jim Breuer had some good Inside SNL stories about the later part of this era on Marc Maron's W*T*F*. One story involved Miller. Something like how Miller was a the type of guy who would tease the rookies if he ran into them in the hallway, and at that time two of the rookies were Jim Breuer and Ben Stiller. Breuer would always play along, accepting it as a part of an initiation onto the team - but Breuer thought Stiller didn't even get what he was suppose to do. Stiller already had so much experience in show business getting teased didn't make sense to him - he wasn't use to needing to get accepted onto a team, he was just annoyed. This is a reason Breuer thought Stiller was not a good fit for SNL.
    That's an interesting story.

Seems like Stiller is a nice guy in real life so that could also be why they didn't bust his a__ as much as Breur

My second bad...glad you previously mentioned him.

Really liked Miller as SNL weekend Update anchor...never liked his stand up act though.

[QUOTE=johnnystorm;1191912]I've been watching that marathon on vh1 , it's addicting as they roll through the hosts. It's funny how some of these people were such big stars for such a brief period that they hosted and disappeared.

I was thinking the same thing. As well as some of the music acts and even some SNL cast.

^I remember that. I was probably too young to be watching SNL, but I was always a bit of a Night-Owl on the weekend as a kid.

Ringo looked like Christopher Lambert from Highlander there.

^Here's that opening (which is also a fave of mine), altho the uploader screwed around with it for some reason with the smaller square thing, which is not how it was..

    Did I dream that ?

That was the 1984-85 season. During Billy Crystal and Martin Short's brief run as regular cast members.
