What a collection! That boxed AHI Super Friends car is dreamy! One of the best pieces in the collection IMO, and the Mego WGSH display boxes are nothing to sneeze at either!

Thanks everyone. The feedback is giving some idea on what to try and pick up. I knew the obvious, but the stuff like the Super Friends car and the push button puppets are what I need help with. What are some of the other items that I should go for?

I'd say that vintage lunchbox pictured with the majority of the Mego stuff is a pretty pricey item. That stand-up of Chris Reeve can't be common, either.

Oh, and the Super Friends Trick or Treat bag. That is shown in the Ben Cooper catalogs Brian has posted, and I don't think it's very common. But I'm no expert on rarity or price. A lot of this stuff, I've NEVER seen before!

I am happy to report that the trip was a success! The gentleman and his wife were gracious hosts and we were proud to be able to bring back quite a few items to add to our personal collections as well as lots of stuff to share with other collectors. These items were collected over 50 years and can now be loved and cherished by others. This was a toy collector's dream pick that we will talk about for the rest of our lives. Enjoy the pictures!

Very awesome. Sorry I was of little help...although Superman is my favorite superhero...my overall Superman collectible expertise only extends to some lines. However, glad you got expert advise...and even more glad everything worked out for you.

Wow. So can you confirm that the WGSH case is indeed full of figs? If so, double wow.

Unfortunately it is not full of figs. Man, if it had been I might have passed out when I opened it. I do have plans to fill it with repro boxes according to the case pack count on the shipping box. Then i'll likely put figures in the first row where the windows are visible so it appears full.... it just needs to be done don't you think? LOL

I am still amazed at all this Superman goodness. So glad it went to you, someone who can appreciate and enjoy all the items. And not just someone who is going to resell all of it. You must have been beside yourself as you were going through it all.

Thank you Mark, I appreciate that. I was in awe while going through the collection. My wife told me that every time my son-in-law and I would open a box and start pulling things out that she could just see the amazement in our eyes. My wife is the best! She told me she had a great time just seeing how happy I was. She also said that the son, who had inherited the collection, was sitting over to the side in a rocking chair smiling as we went through his father's collection. I believe he knew the items were going to someone that truly appreciated what his father had assembled over the years. I have definitely fallen in love with several of the pieces. However, I will be sharing many of the items with other collectors by selling them. This will help offset some of my expenses. But the things I'm keeping will be displayed proudly in my man-cave for the rest of my time on this Earth .

This is what I get for being out of touch for so long on the museum. I miss out on this thread.

                                Dang. I'm jealous.
