Death near Cholame

This may have been the last picture taken of James Dean before his Porsche 550 Spyder got intimate with a Ford Tudor at the intersection of Highways 41 and State Route 466. Wondering if any members here have done any research on the crash or have been to the final resting spot of Little B@st@rd.

So, is the official "spot" of death in Shandon?

I think it was closer to Cholame. 41 and 46 (what used to be 466) converge just north of Cholame. Shandon is further south by a couple miles.

There's a memorial in Cholame that most people mistake for the exact spot he died. It kind of wraps around a big tree, so a lot of people think he wrapped his Porsche around it. The actual spot is a little bit south of there.
