Lon Chaney PHANTOM of the OPERA WIP

This is the first painting using a new technique I'm developing...I laid down the skintone before drawing so that all I have to do is add the shadows and highlights.
I used a very pale flesh speckled with various mixtures of brown, gray, purple, pink and white to give the skin a realistic mottled look.

Looking forward to this! It'll be interesting to compare it to your previous version. The Phantom is my favorite "monster" and Chaney tops them all.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

The eyes alone are spectacular. You've got some serious talent.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

You should frame it in one of those old portrait gallery frames, like the Roger Corman paintings where the eyes follow you everywhere.

That's already hauntingly good. Those eyes are insanely real.

You're spooking me Dwayne. That is off the chain good. That would actually be interesting as a mixed medium concept piece. Love it!

                  Very nice.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Here's another shot with the upper lip area blended, veins and wrinkles added.
