Anybody else suffer from this ???

WE all got our own quirks.....
One of mine is when I leave my home, I have to double, triple and quadruple check the door lock.
    I live in a relatively crime-free area.... but i'm a nut ... I always have to check my door-lock a million times....
When i'm gone...... I still worry about it .... "Did I lock my door " ?

    What's your nutty vice ?

You're not "sick", but all kidding aside, this is a common syptom of obssesive-compulsive disorder. Ask your physician about it and he will probably try to hook you up with somebody.

I'm always hitting the turn signal cancel button when riding down the road. Most bikes don't have self-canceling signals and it's just an odd habit now. On a straight road for miles and I'll tap it with my thumb "just in case." ??? Like I forgot about some mysterious turn that slipped my mind. Hell, even if I was riding down the road with my signal flashing all the time I'd probably just blend in better down here, damn Oldies.

I will get a block away from my house and go back because I don't remember if I shut the garage door or not.

I have this thing where I like to enter people's houses who have forgotten to lock their doors. That's how I get my Megos.

                        I have OCD.

White specks on floors drive me mad, whether the specks are dirt, tiny pieces of paper, food items, or whatever, I have to pick them up and throw them out of my site (usually garbage bin).

I'm constantly fighting this with both my LCD and computer monitor as well...I hate all those little particles clinging to the screen...I just can't help myself.

...and don't get me started on my cars.

I have a big issue with other family members leaving lights on in rooms they are not occupying. I have tried every single thing to encourage turning off the lights but I can't even talk my wife into doing it (in her opinion, the electricity emitted from a lightbulb is not costly or energy sucking like other appliances).

Every night before bedtime I get up and check to make sure all lights on the lower floors are turned off because it really bothers me to wake and find a light that has been on all night long.

I washed my cell phone in the washer and of course it wasn't covered. So now I check for it all the time, and if I don't have it it must be in the washer, which it isn't.

Not only do I have to check to see if the door is locked, I also have to check several times to make sure other common household things are done, especially at bedtime. The worst is probably making sure my alarm clock is set. It is not uncommon for me to set it, check before I turn the light off, then check again a short time later, after I'm settled in and the lights are off. Another favorite is making sure the stove is turned off. Yes, I know this is a sign of OCD. But when I was a kid, teachers were always calling my parents to tell them that I should be tested for ADD. I think that's the more likely culprit, because of the way I have trouble following directions. By the time someone gives me steps 4 through 7, my brain is already working on 1 through 3 and I don't hear the rest. I think my brain was just too busy to focus on the fact that I did turn off the stove, so I don't know if I did it or not. Plus, there's the fact that I seriously go into what is known as "hyper-focus" when I'm working on a custom. Ah the fun of working with behavioral issues - self-diagnoses
