Now for kids who grew up on a farm like me--- field cars don't count


Mine was a '73 Pontiac LeMans
Bought it from a little old lady (no BS)
The back fenders were crazy rusted out.
I rebuilt them using coat hangers, chicken wire and body putty..
I'm still surprised it passed inspection

A 66 Plymouth Furry II

This car had been owned by a little old lady that drive it to church on Sundays (no lie) We bought it in 83 and it only had 20,000 miles on it.

Traded it in in 89 for a new Ford Probe. That was a huge mistake, the Probe was a piece of junk.

This picture was taken in front of our Highschool on Halloween Dress up day! 1977.
Note what is in the hand of the guy on the left! He borrowed it from a Police Officer-Gun Collector who had removed the Firing Pin!

I had a '72 Buick that I got rid of because I thought it got lousy gas mileage at 18 mpg. Now-a-days there are folks driving SUV's that only get 14. My car would have been considered economy class.

Growing up my Dad always had mopars,A good mix of dodges over the years the years.I always thought it was fitting my first car was a '73 Dodge Charger SE.Had it for several years untill I upgraded for a '74

Also 1984. Also a Pinto. Mine was a '72. $hi+-brown in color. And it ran that way too. $400.

I had a couple of Vespa Scooters and a bright yellow Honda bike, which I sold to get a deposit to rent a flat. But my first car was a Mini Cooper with an unlockable boot.
Sold it after someone nicked all the wheels off it outside my house...maybe I shouldn't have left a car jack in the boot.

my first cars were a 76 Cadillac El Dorado my mom got in perfect condition for $150 but it was to big for me to drive at 16 then a 82 Camaro Z-28 $200(nice but too many problems and never really got to drive it) and then finally a Sonata 90 for $50 from a friend who was going to junk it when i was 18 and all it needed was a clutch it was a great little car

1980 Ford Focus. I remember being with my Dad,.. & He was so stoked because we got the car for 250 or something like that. It was Silver,.. with red Leather Material on the inside,.. that had green moss growing over everything,.. it looked like MossMan from He-man was living in there. The car Shot Flames out of the hood on the way home..., after we put the flames out,.. we towed the car Home. After a Few weeks , it was drivable... Then after a few yrs, we Sold it for 800 bucks to a Chick I knew.

I have no idea what year it was but my first actual road car was a puke green Ambassador. My dad said to drive it for 1 year and if I didn't wreck it he'd buy me a Jeep for my 17th birthday (which he did).

Hand painted green Mini Club man estate N reg 1974,broke key in the ignition lock in the on position and had to( bump ) push start it . Bought it for £200 of dad s mate sold it for £400 and bought a bright Red Mark 1 Ford Fiesta W reg 1981 for £1000. Loved that car

76 Dodge Half Ton. This thing was built like a tank, and stood up very well to all the crazy stuff we country boys used to do. It was quick too, would pass anything but a gas station.
I got the truck in 84' for $250.00 because the owner thought the tranny was bad. Couldnt believe my luck when I crawled underneath to tie up the drive shaft so I could tow it home...It was already disconnected and tied up. I didnt let on anything, but asked the guy if the truck had been towed recently. Turned out it ran out of gas up near the Rogers Pass in BC, and had to be towed to a gas station. They towed it back to Golden and filled it up, but the tow truck driver must have been an unsrupulous sort, since he didnt tell them the drive shaft was disconnected. They guy put the truck into gear and it (of course) wouldnt move, so the "kind hearted" tow truck dude offerred to tow it all the way back to Calgary for them.
I guess I may have been "remiss" in telling this guy about the drive shaft too, but I was 16 and $250.00 was a lot of money to me back then. Got it home, hooked everything back up, and ran it up into the mid-nineties. I had a brand new truck, and a 84 Plymouth car, so I had to get rid of it....wish I had it now.

A 1965 Chevy Impala 4 door , The GREAT WHITE BUFFALO

I had a 65 that was white but repainted blue. 327 4 bbl engine. Had it in 78!
