Rod Taylor, the star of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, is dead at 84 -- read what his costar Tippi Hedren had to say
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I had no idea, until I saw one of those "TCM Remembers...." bits last night. They are showing some of his movies on Thursday night.
I remembered him being in a short-lived TV series about cowboys who time traveled from the 1880s to the then-present 1980s. IMDB says it was called "The Outlaws".
I had no idea he was the voice of Pongo, and apparently the first choice for Taylor in POTA. Loved him in "The Time Machine."
RIP. The Birds is one of those movies that still freaks me out to this day and a good portion of that is all of the character responses and interaction.
I found out about his passing on TCM remembers also, he was great in the Time Machine a classsic
sci-fi movie, the Morlocks were cool looking, maybe Distictive Dummies will create Morlocks sometime
in the future?
