Here's a rare look inside my "studio" AKA the kitchen table! LOL
This is 1977 ANH Vader...I'm trying to be as screen accurate as humanly possible. This is slow going...

Now, if you'd like to see some real Vader nuts going ape over the amount of detail in the helmet, take a look here: http://thepropden.aokforums.com/1-vt3568.html You'll see a lot of bickering over the legendary "C-Scar" on Vader's right cheek surface. Keep in mind, all of the silver gunmetal surfaces were painted by hand, and there are brushstrokes visible.

Fun fact: Sculptor Brian Muir created the nose indent simply by pressing his thumb into the clay.

Thanks guys! I'm really focused on this painting more than any I've done in recent years and I think it shows. I find I actually like being free of the constraints of commission work. I can work on subjects I want, take my time, and just enjoy painting for the sake of painting.
