    Nope, too chicken to try.

I used to downhill ski (badly) in high school. Once snowboarding took off, and they began sharing the slopes, it kinda intimidated me. No offense to anyone who enjoys snowboarding, but those guys never seemed to be in full control as they'd come tearing down the slopes from behind me. Now that I'm an old 40-something with a family, I realize my limits and confidence level… the fear of injury really keeps me away.

I would love to get into cross country though. Good exercise.

The ski resorts here are about a 3.5 hour ride from the Bay Area, and yes, done a little beginning downhill and cross country skiing, but that was well over 20 years ago.

I snowboard every year. I love it. I do not, however, go tearing down the slopes out of control. I am more of a carver. I usually go to Blue Mountain north of Allentown. I have been to Killington, Vermont a few times. I wish I lived closer.

I've done it a few times, but not since about 1990. My last time was night skiing at Blue Knob in central PA. At one point I found myself in a chair lift in the dark rocking with 20 mph wind gusts, and I decided that I'd had enough. I spent the rest of the night by the lodge's fireplace. I'd probably go again if the right opportunity came along, but I'd take it easy because of injury risk. I do still skate & play hockey now & then, which is easier on the knees.

yes, but not nearly as much as I would like too. I started teaching my kids the past few years but it is a very expensive activity. there is an old saying, "the family that skis together, goes broke together"
I started skiing when I was 18 or 19, before marriage I would go quite a bit but then marriage and responsibility put a stop to that, LOL

I'm really great at falling down hills, though...
