Get well soon! I saw a hockey player on TV a couple of weeks ago who had it. One side on his lower face was very swollen. He looked miserable.
The mumps had all but been eradicated in the U.S. (maybe all of North America) in the past decades. Now, some parents are choosing not to vaccinate their children and there has been a return of diseases such as the measles, mumps and the whooping cough. There has even been a significant outbreak of the mumps in the NHL over the past month. I think that all of us were vaccinated against these diseases at least once. It sounds like these particular disease don't mutate like the "common cold" does. I guess that, sometimes, the vaccine wears-off over time and if others are walking around infected...well.
