I am asking for some help with a situation I have with my family. On Dec 25th My family was visiting my father in laws house. His older brother likes to drink a lot and is 93 years old. He backed the car down the driveway and right into the back bumper of my wifes car. I got very upset at this as he has had over 4 crashes this year alone and is going for a driving review in 6 weeks. My father in law who is 84 said the crash was my fault for parking the car on the road. My wifes car was no where near the driveway but the uncle hit it anyways. Now my wife is mad at me because I told her father the crash was his brothers fault. Can someone please tell me what to say or just let it go. I am afraid he is gonna hurt himself or someone else if he continues to drive. HELP

I don't know Canadian law but here DUI and DWI is an ageless offense. Good luck. The family situations are always the toughest to deal with. For yourself though I would find YOUR truth, consider the consequences of your thoughts, decide your resolve and then go with that. No easy road for sure but it's all you. :( -
Seems like no one other than you is looking at the bigger picture. Time for tough love: I would tell Methuselah that he's lucky it was a bumper and not a baby stroller. Get help and stay off the road. You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.Comment

someone should be acting responsible and not letting that drunk out on the road. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

If he's had that many incidents, my guess is they're gonna take his license away anyway after that driving review. But it's true, no one should have let him drive. Age slows down your reflexes as it is, but driving while drunk plus the age factor? Not a good combination."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

that's a tough one. honestly I don't think someone that age should be driving any more, period. the reflexes and vision are too poor and they are a danger on the road. add in drinking and you have another whole danger level.Comment
