I almost forgot about "An American Christmas Carol" with Henry Winkler as a depression-era Scrooge. I haven't seen that one in years. I remember liking it as a kid, but I have no idea if it'd hold up now.

I need to rewatch the Scott version, I recall not liking it much initially.

I love the 1970 musical "Scrooge," but I always enjoy the 1938 MGM version & recall the '70s animated version fondly.

^The 70s animated version scared the beejeezus out of me as a kid. That's Alastair Sim providing the voice as well, right? Haven't seen that one in decades.

It's great, but hard to find. I can't figure out why it's been unavailable on home video, since it won an Oscar for best animated short film. YouTube is your best bet.

Looks like I'm the only one who likes the Zemeckis/Carrey one.

I love how there is so many versions and all of them are at least good if not great. The 1938 MGM version with Reginald Owen introduced me to A Christmas Carol and Dickens in general in 1975 and it's my sentimental favorite. I got to see it on the big screen earlier this month in a double feature with Christmas in Connecticut. I also really enjoy the Muppet version as well as the WKRP episode that did a parody.

From Mr. Magoo and the Muppets to Sim, Finney, Scott, Cain, Owen, Winkler and Stewart to the animated, CGI, musical and TV show adaptions, it's just a great story that really hits the mark.
