Did you ever see a ghost ?

I'm your number one skeptic/atheist but I can't deny stuff my beloved family have seen.

Just wanted to know if anyone else have weird stories.

Put me down as one that would love to something cool like a ghost!

The closest was when I was driving home late in the day, sun setting in front of me and I was driving through a small rural town I've driven through hundreds of times. Right before you enter the town there's a cemetery on on the left. Not a run down older one, but a cemetery nonetheless. As I was approaching it, I saw what appeared to be someone in a hole, with a shovel, tossing dirt out, as if they were digging the grave. I saw it and that's what registered in my mind. I drove on past, but those next two blocks I had a weird feeling. So I turned around and drove back to the cemetery, which was now on my right. I drove right to where I saw the gravedigger and pulled over, and saw no gravedigger, and absolutely no disturbed ground at all in that area. So I pointed my company car West again and drove home thinking about what I saw.

Never saw an apparition but my wife saw a doppelgänger of her stepdad at a house we used to rent. She called home to thank her mom for sending him over to fix the lawnmower and she said, "what he's right here!" then handed him the phone! Crazy! We also heard a lot of voices that sounded like ourselves and other crazy stuff. It was trippy. Sometimes when fumbling with the house keys the door would just open.

I was driving south on US 301 in N. Florida early one morning. The sun had not appeared and it was still dark (about 5:30am). As I approached a bend in the road I clearly saw a man standing at the edge of the road wearng a top hat. As I drove up to where he was standing, he faded away and there was nothing there. I've told this to several people and they say quite a few people have lost their lives at that section of road over the years. That's my one ghost story, JOHN

Nope, don't believe in ghosts, Bigfoot, or life on other planets.

When I lived in a 1930s apartment there was an empty bedroom where the light would keep turning itself on (switch actually flipped). I thought that was odd.

But here's my scaaary ghost story:

When I was about 14/15 I spent the night at a friend's house watching horror movies (Poltergeist!) before deciding to walk home at about 2am. Now in my old town (Perth, Australia) back in 1982 they would turn off the street lights at 1:30am (!!!) so the walk home, on a moonless night, was almost pitch black. Fortunately I knew the way like the proverbial back of my hand, but nevertheless I was a little spooked by the movies and the idea of crossing the park in pitch black.

On entry to the park I realised that without "markers" to navigate my way in the dark, I'd have to pick a direction and keep walking straight ahead, so I chose a direction and started walking. I wasn't more than 30ft into the park before I heard a noise behind me. It was a faint "shhhh" noise. I looked behind me, but of course in the almost pitch black I couldn't see anything. I kept walking (a little faster).

But the noise grew in intensity and it seemed to be getting closer. What started as almost a hiss became a quiet rumble. At this point I started freaking out a little bit. I started "power walking" across the park. (maintain your cool).

The rumble grew louder. I keep looking behind me, but there's nothing to be seen. Then I noticed the ground beneath my feet was vibrating. Whatever was behind me seemed to be following me. My power walk became a jog.

But the noise grew louder still, the ground was shaking and whatever was behind me (judging by the sound) was about 4 feet behind me.

And then, ladies and gents, I lost it. I SPRINTED to the far edge of the park, the whole time with the noise getting closer and louder, until finally, as I reached the road, the thing behind me had caught up, and I turned to face whatever was about to attack me.

As soon as I spun around a huge white spectral veil rose from the ground.

              Water.

I'd been running above an big underground reticulation pipe as it filled with water, reached pressure, and activated the sprinklers.

              I almost ****ing died.

I'm skeptic too when it involves anything supernatural, ethereal, or some story that has been told to, passed down and believed by others ( ie: Bigfoot creatures, Jersery devil).
But, for some strange reason where I go to work at I sense something that there is something with me. Its not scaring me, nor do I feel like it wants to. I work in a fairly new office building at night, and I'm always there alone. I provide maintenance. It not like this building has this major creep factor to it, its not old, it shouldn't have much in a way of any history. The land before it was all farm land before that office complex was built. I just seem to sense something, and hear things that make me wonder "how is that happening?" One time when I was getting ready to leave after turning off all the lights, I walked by this framed picture that was hanging in the hallway, and for a mere second as I am looking at it there is a reflection in the glass and I see these legs walk by across from me going into where the secretary has her office. The legs seemed to belong to a man, because it had some snappy polished shoes on with some Sunday's best slacks on. That presence of a man in a suit being there has now happened twice since I have worked there. My only logic to that is the people who work there, wear that kind clothing.

I used to work in the operating theatres at a children's hospital. Two old (1890s) theatre blocks connected by a suspended walkway. On night shift I'd often have to lock up one theatre block, including turning all the lights off. And the main light switch was, of course, at the opposite end to the exit.

I'm not one for ghosts, but empty dark operating theatres at night? Where sometimes kids had died that very day? Man, I used to flick that light switch and fly out of there.

                    Spooks, no. Spooky, yes.

Many years ago I lived at a place called Gull Cottage near a fishing village in Maine called Schooner Bay.
It was run by a lovely widow by the name of Carolyn Muir.

On several occasions many of the residents of the Cottage including myself would see the ghost of a 19th Century Sea Captain roaming around.

                      Merry Christmas Everybody!

One night I felt like I was being shaken awake in my bed. We lived in the house my Grandmother lived in. She had passed away in the hospital, (2 days before my b'day in 1990-she always said I was her favorite). The night I was being shaken was a few years after she passed on, (possibly 93-97). Anyway whatever it was-I was afraid it might be something I wouldn't want to see. So I kept my eyes shut tight on purpose and pulled the heavy covers over my head and went back to sleep. No further problems.

My brother has told me he thinks my late mother visits him. He claims he has seen vapor evaporating near the corner in he ceiling and impressions on his bed as though someone had been sitting watching him in the room. He won't go into further details than that.

Mikey, you haven't shared any of your stories.

Too many to write about at the moment but in the 90's I found that radio stations and movie theaters had a LOT of strange things happening. From faces through port hole windows to things moving, slamming and breaking. The most intense one didn't happen to me personally but the events left a guy so scared he quit the radio station the moment I showed up to relieve him.

i live in an old house and there have been a few deaths many years back. sometimes we see, i guess what you would call shadow people. ive seen it, my family has seen it, even my pets have seen it. sometimes we have seen it at the same time. sometimes its dark, sometimes a gray mist. always in our hall way.

the most incredible thing i have ever seen was an orb at Binghams Light in Dillon SC. way back in the woods a couple of miles on an old train track bed where story has it a man lost his life. if you go down and antagonize it it will come out of the woods, across a small swap and literally chase you. its the size of a beach ball and emits light in all directions, not a beam. its bright enough to cast a shadow in the middle of the night. it will make you a believer. unfortunately i believe the area was logged and has been blocked off to trespassers.
