What year in your lifetime was your favotite christmas? Christmas was always and still is a big deal for me and my family. For me my favorite was easily 1982. That was the peak of my childhood and I got alot of awesome stuff that year (as I always did at christmas) All my relatives were still alive and I just basically liked the year 1982 ..haha. The neighboorhood we lived in back then practically every house had christmas decorations out. Were I live now maybe one or 2 people do but that's it.

I couldn't choose, as I stated on last years Christmas Pod Cast, My Brothers and myself were truly blessed as far as Christmas was concerned... Every Year was a different theme, from GI Joe, to Mego, to Big Jim to Johnny West, to The Lone Ranger and Tonto etc... so by default I am going to Pick Christmas 2013... It was the last Christmas We got to spend with Dad so that I guess is always the best Christmas Gift, getting to spend it with the people you LOVE MOST!
Happy Holidays to my MEGO PEOPLES and your Families!!! Enjoy and be Blessed!!! -
1987. We had a big Christmas Eve party with my mom's side of the family. We had done it in 1986 as well, but I was only 4 then and it was only captured on my uncle's older camcorder. By '87 we had a camcorder that filmed a great looking record of the event that I still have to this day. Before family drama, passings, etc.
1989 was pretty cool too. My birthday falls nine days before Christmas, and that year I had a McDonalds birthday party. One of the games played was stacking the styrofoam Big Mac boxes. The kids accused it of being rigged because I won. Then that night we met up with some family friends whose son's birthday was the day before mine. We went to Chi-Chi's...and didn't get sick!
Honorable mention goes to 2012. The first Christmas I really remember enjoying since my dad's passing in '07. I remember thinking that I'd never enjoy holidays again. I was wrong. He'd be ticked if I didn't. It was also the first holiday season in years where I had all of the big days off and paid. This is the third year in a row for that, and I count my blessings because of it.

This coming Christmas is my daughters first one, so my answer will be different next week. But I can clearly remember a Christmas Eve where the nfl was on and all of my uncles and cousins were over all night long and like everybody else, it was before any passings in the family and we were all together.
Every Christmas I was spoiled with presents, but there were a few where I can remember the sense of family that overwhelmed the night. Those ones are the best.Comment

I have fond memories of all my childhood Christmases, especially with kids now (who are getting older). Instead of picking a year, I'll post this pic from probably 1976 or 1977 of my first home in Detroit. Playing with a Lite Brite and Matchbox track with my older brother (sadly no Megos pictured). My parents didn't take a lot of photos as kids, but I wanted to do a Throwback Christmas card this year with my wife and two kids in our early Christmas photos. This was literally the only one my parents had! LOL

All my Christmases through age 9. The following year my older sister died. Also 2007 was a good one, too. I was still friends w/ my buddy Shawn and he sent me a whole lot of 60s Batman stuff. Sadly, we aren't friends anymore."Do you believe, you believe in magic?

All I remember from Christmas is my family making each other miserable, arguments,..
Then we didn't speak to each other for like six months.
Reconciled around May. Then gave each other Christmas gifts...the festive season...
So my best Christmas was the first one I didn't have to spend with family.
Ho ho ho.....

Sheesh, I'm not even sure. It's all blurring together nowadays. I think Christmas 79 I got the 12" Mego Spider-Man and the Remco Energized Batman, Superman and Hulk (I already had their Spidey).
Then in 1982, that was the MOTU Christmas. I got the He-Man/Battlecat gift-set, Skeletor, and Castle Grayskull. That was one I definitely remember.
But overall, I'd give anything to go back and relive our Christmas traditions. Even though we have our own now, I still miss them, and think of what we'd be doing around any given hour over Christmas Eve to Christmas Day.
