Lammily - The Average Girl Doll; They actually did it!

This doll is based on the digital idea that went viral last year on a correctly proportioned girl doll. It seems they have been released in time for X-Mas. These are from the manufacturers website.

    Reviews:

Toy creator Nickolay Lamm created the Lammily doll for kids to have an average-sized doll to play with and turns out they prefer her over Barbie

Lionel Shriver: A doll with acne like an ‘average’ teenager is being launched to rival Barbie. What wishful claptrap

I hate to criticize Lammily -- the new "normal" looking doll for little girls -- as challenging the all-mighty Barbie and her size negative-four standards is a commendable act. That said... I'm about to criticize Lammily.

Yeah, I saw that on their video. She's OK, I guess. I think her neck is too short, so it makes her look squattish. And I still prefer Barbie.

To each their own but I still say with all the hubbub over the girls dolls why not raise a stink over the boys toys too. We aren't all cut and buff like Superman or GI Joe.

Don't forget to pick up the accessory pack of decals to add cellulite, stretch mark, acne, scars and bruises.

I think this will go the way of Kenner's Dusty once the media hype dies down. The designer basing the dolls face on himself doesn't help it any. Once it was pointed out to me I couldn't unsee it.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

That's just getting a little too real w/ the scars, cellulite, acne and so forth. I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, play is about fantasy. Yes, children learn real life experiences through play, but it was also all about pretend. We could be anything we wanted when we played. A superhero, a model, an astronaut, etc. It was an escape. I don't wanna pretend I'm a teenager w/ zits and flab w/ a squat neck.

My daughter does NOT play real life with her toys. It's all fantasy and fun for her. Not to say she couldn't do that with these, but she wouldn't be adding the stretchmarks, cellulite or acne on them because she doesn't have any of that stuff yet!! If these were in stores, we'd definitely check 'em out.

You're joking, right? Why would he do that? Doesn't he know any women?

I wonder what the articulation's like and how easy head-swaps would be? They might be good base bodies for customs.
