    Games these days...

Just an observation but, after looking at games on the ITunes Store (don't play much but every few months, I'll get a hankering to get something), I noticed a huge trend toward pay-for-play games instead of complete games that you buy once and then you're done. I hate it. I'd like to buy the game, and then not ever have to see a prompt to buy something, or have a commercial banner across my screen.

On that note, I also hate the way companies sell console games these days too. Who else gets to sell you an incomplete product and then they can "fix" the buggy game they sold you later in updates? Can you even play a modern console game these days without an Internet connection?

Think I'll go hook up the old Playstation One and bask in the nostalgia....

I've already regressed to emulators on my PC. Hooked up controls with USB attachments and I'm good to go. I still play mlb the show, but besides that, i agree....this new trend in gaming is not for me.

And let's not forget all of the DLC and Update packs you need as well.

Yes, I am not a fan of the pay-for-play and DLC systems. I get that MMORPG's use that as their model for generating revenue to keep the game going by keeping subscribers engaged in the game but, for the makers of other types of games it is just a blatant money grab.

And, I have mostly gone the emulator route too...I'm rocking the MAME and NES emulators myself. Although now that Everquest has gone free-to-play I dust off my Shadowknight or Ranger for Norrathian action from time to time.
