This past weekend was the first time ever in 50 years, that there were no Saturday morning cartoons on the major networks

So sad. Even tho there hasn't been any good network saturday morning shows to watch in years, it is still a sad day. We had it awesome!

An earlier thread on the same subject.

http://www.slashfilm.com/saturday-morning-cartoons-dead/ Thought this was worth mentioning. I'm beginning to believe network television as a whole is on its way out.

Did FOX and CW dump their Saturday morning programming? The big three haven't broadcast cartoons in years.

            Ummm... No?

NBC still has the Sprout block from 10:00-12:30. Tree Fu Tom, Astroblast, Poppy Cat... all Satuday morning cartoons. I just double checked the TV listings just to make sure I wasn't imaging things.

Sure that is not a lot of cartoons. Nor are they particularly good cartoons, mind you... but I am surprised they would publish an article like this without fact checking.

I wonder if it is a programming decision of the local affiliate?
