What kinda of wild-life do you see in your area?

I figured since we have so many worldwide members this could be interesting. Maybe there's some misconceptions about your area or country? I live in southern ontario Canada and I regularly or semi regularly see

Foxes- there's one that crosses the road in front of my house with squirrels or rabbits in its mouth almost daily.
Deer- not too often but in spring and fall they follow a path behind my house in the woods. No matter how old I get I still get excited to see them.
Wild turkeys and turkey vultures- tons of them around.
Squirrels and chipmunks- okay maybe not too exciting for those that see them everyday, but I've noticed a lot of little red ones this year. Mostly they are always black but a few grey ones too.
Birds- the area I live in is really well known to bird watchers. It's supposed to be a great area for bird varietys. The blue jay is pretty common here. It's really a beautiful bird.
Swans-awesome birds and super fun to watch. They will attack you if you come to close to their baby's.
Geese- hate them. They make such a friggin mess. And they're noisy.
Coyotes- I HEAR coyotes all the time, but I've only ever seen one or two.
Snapping turtles and frogs and stuff- other than salamanders there are no reptile type things here. Just your usual water dwellers.

Things I don't see that people might think is common hear- moose (never seen one in the wild here), bears (I have seen them in the wild but only further north), beavers (same), cougars (reports of cougars from time to time but I've never seen one). Wolves (never seen one in the wild but have held baby wolves at a nearby sanctuary)

Post pics if you have them I'll try to do the same from my computer later.

I love armadillos but I've only seen them in zoo's. Can you have one as a pet? Will they take food from you?

They stink and cause a lot of destruction. They are an invasive species here.

Pigeons pf course, as well as ducks, geese, seagulls, squirrels, racoons, skunks, possums. Once I saw a turkey walking down the street, and a deer ran past me once on the overpass.

Here in Vermont I see a lot of diverse critters: otters, beaver (a dam of theirs bursts every 2-3 years and wipes out a main road nearby), groundhogs, fox, rabbit, deer (usually dead on the side of the roads, not so much during hunting season), bear (esp if you have a birdfeeder), the occasional moose, we have a large flock of turkey vultures nearby (I've counted as many as 57 at one time). Oh, and cows. Lots and lots of cows (last census had 3 cows for every person in the state...)
Looking for redhead AJ heads (or figures) - both bearded & clean shaven (I'm trying to complete all the variations).
Also seeking: 1 blue Soldier Ape glove, 1 General Ape boot, sun reflector from PotA Fortress playset.

I'd avoid wild ones, since they carry leprosy.

Just on our property I've seen squirrels, rabbits, skunks, raccoons, toads, frogs, and garter snakes (plus tons of various birds), and I hear coyotes all the time. Many more types of animals in the forests and ponds nearby, too many to list. The place where I work is located on a big piece of woodland property, so I see deer, wild turkey and foxes nearly every day on the drive to our office building.

In our yard - deer, coyotes, foxes (red & silver), weasels, raccoons, skunks, turkeys, geese, tortoises, woodchucks, bald eagles, pileated woodpeckers, hawks, and little things like chipmunks, squirrels, many types of smaller birds, and one and thankfully only ever one cougar.

In one of the 3 township parks 8 county parks, and 2000 acres of state land that is all within eight miles - all those critters plus small bears, bobcats, beavers, muskrats, otters, sandhill cranes, and numerous other small types of wildlife.

There's a family of deer living in my development. They're great to watch, but the friggin bastages eat my tomatoes, strawberries, apple trees, peach trees and even holly. We also have woodpeckers...who punch holes in my cedar siding & move right in.

We have some delightful cardinals that come and eat our cats food. They sing and play together, it's great. We have deer come through our yard a lot, squirrels, skunks, foxes, coyotes, wild hogs (quite a nuisance around here), all sorts of Hawks and raccoons and armadillos.
