I was at work and a co-worker asked if I heard about the plane hitting the WTC. I said that its happened before and dismissed it. Shortly, we went on lockdown and started clearing campus.

I was in a pawn shop looking at video games. They had the radio on and I heard about what was happening on the news. I immediately headed home and turned on the TV, following the horrific events as they unfolded for the rest of the day and night.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

I was in High School. I remember this was before smart phones so news traveled a bit slower. It was a surreal moment. But even then, there was a time to mourn and a time to keep moving. We didn't get out of school early or have the next day off.Comment

At the time I was serving in the British Army. I'd just finished 4 days guard and was about to go home on leave for a few days. Me and a few of the boys went into town to grab a few things before going home. Returning back to camp we were stopped at the gate and informed to go back to the block and get changed and return to the guard room where we would be informed as to what was going on. On returning back, it was all over the TV and we got the full story before anyone spoke. We were stopped from going home and security state went up. I remember it like it was yesterday. Absolutely devastated.
I just like to say that all those that lost their lives and families are in my thoughts. What an evil world we live in.Comment

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I was at the local airport literally boarding our jet, when our pilot got the no-fly order. He told us we had to deplane because "something" was happening. We went inside, turned on the TV and didn't move for the rest of the day.
When we finally did fly again two days later, they kept giving us orders to change our altitude constantly. I assume they wanted to make sure we had control of our plane. It was crazy.Comment

I was at home, but I was kinda confused as to what had happened at first. I was hoping my friends in NYC were OK, and then I realized what happened. So sad."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

A little late to this, but I was driving to work after taking my oldest to his probably fourth or fifth day of Kindergarten. I heard it on the radio that a plan had hit one of the towers and I assumed it was an accident with a small plane, like a Cessna.Comment
