Anybody Remember those NFL Pencils?

Did anyone else collect those NFL pencils? Like in the late 70's. I used to carry them all around in a special case. They were never sharpened and the erasers were all fresh. Sometimes you had to settle for on that was sharpened, until you could get a whole one. I never had all of them.

I had some of those mini plastic NFL/MLB helmets too. But only my favorite teams at the time. The Pittsburgh Steelers - I was a fair weather fan.

Anybody else remember an old silly collection?

Oh, yea. I had those. Used them at school and had both divisions. Back in the 70's I had a lot of NFL stuff from bedsheets to school notebooks. Since my favorite team is the Redskins and my brother's is the Dolphins anything NFL related was of that particular team. I had a Redskin bulletin board, rain coat, hats, ruler, stickers, clock and of course the gumball helmets. I also had some of the NFL buggies (they look like golf carts). Lots of good times.

I have a box of the pencils that I saved. We could buy them from our school office when I was in 6th and 7th grade.

I remember buying them in the school library in 8th grade. They made a forture off of us. They were too special to use for pencil fights.

I've got a set of those - I only wanted the San Diego Chargers, but I had to buy them all to get it. I got tired of pumping quarters in the machine at school. Kept getting Oakland and Denver (bleh)

I coulda Sworn I just saw these in the store , last fall when I was school supply shopping. I think the Pencils are still out there. Me & My Brother had the pencils & the Helmets in the mid 80's. They recently upgraded the Helmets,.. & gave them more so of a Linebacker looks,.. as opposed to the Oldschool Kicker Helmet.

Loved those NFL helmets. I kept getting the stupid tangerine Tampa Bay bucs helmet in the coin operated machine.

I also remember the pencils and they sold them at our school store as well.

I had all the little helmets but no pencils

yeah they have been on ebay many times in the full set.

I used to have the pencils and mini-helmets as a kid. Last year I picked up a complete set of the helmets along with goal posts that they sit on. I've still got a couple of big bags of the vending machine helmets too.

The baseball helmets were from Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor. They served sundaes in them.

The NFL helmets use to be sold some where other than gumball machines, but I do not remember where.

The pencils were sold in 8-packs (or something) and the teams were randomly placed in there.

Yep. I still have a bunch of the pencils, too. It seemed wrong back then to even consider sharpening them. I always wanted the eraser to be in the team's colors. I thought that would've been cool.
